Ok well the first week on nightwatch has been a blessing in disguise. It's quite relaxing at work, but adjusting has left the bench somewhat abandoned. I have been working on the dozer assembly, but no pics as yet.
Be patient with me.

Dozer blade built. Wow, seams as wide as the grand canyon. The legs are two pieces, top and bottom, and when joined left a V shaped trench as they are not molded square. Such a trenchthat I just skinned the entire inside with sheet plastic. Anything white is added. Pin marks and mismatched molds required TLC as well. Styrene rod came to help here. I used a spare DML rack. G

The skinning solved the problem perfectly G. Under paint you'll never be able to tell you made the mod.

Thank you gentlemen!
I do appreciate the support.
DML Sherman kits are a wonderful source of well detailed extra parts. I applaud them for their efforts whether they did it deliberately or not.
I took the morning to lay the paint base for the dozer blade. I spritzed some red primer, flat black and some silver on to the face of the blade. After the acrylic base coat, a bit of hair spray, and some scrubbing and I should have a sufficiently weathered blade. I did this once before on a rusty bare metal truck body. I drybrush with a silver/gold mix and it looks pretty good.
I'll get pics later as I'm off to bed. I have to begin my work week tonight, gotta train those newbies.

How I begin...............
You'll dress only in attire specially sanctioned by MiB special services. You'll conform to the identity we give you, eat where we tell you, live where we tell you. From now on you'll have no identifying marks of any kind. You'll not stand out in any way. Your entire image is crafted to leave no lasting memory with anyone you encounter. You're a rumor, recognizable only as deja vu and dismissed just as quickly. You don't exist; you were never even born. Anonymity is your name. Silence your native tongue. You're no longer part of the System. You're above the System. Over it. Beyond it. We're "them." We're "they." We are the Men in Black.

With family in town and working nights it took a while, however she's in her base coat of Tamiya Dark Green now.
Robbo, Mac thanks for the encouraging words. There are sometimes I just cannot stop adding things.
Rbaer howl a bit longer! Pics this weekend.
Dicky Good to see you. Thanks for the comments.

This week end will be hit and miss with painting. I have in laws here for Mother's day and I really have to spend time with my mother in law. The old girl is a hoot and I love her dearly. Lost my parents long ago, so having "Ma" around is special. I'm thinking Monday afternoon.
This one's gonna be in "Marine Green". The Corps used this color from roughly '47-'48, until '59-'63 or so. Tamiya XF 74 (JGSDF OD) is spot on for the color, a slightly green/gray OD.
In fact XF 74 with a satin finish is a dead ringer for the OD used in the Viet Nam era, at least to my aging eyes and spotty memory.........

PAINT! I stayed up Saturday, dropped off to sleep that afternoon and woke up at o dark thirty Sunday. Tamiya XF-74 JGSDF OD color modulated over a base of Dark Green. I used Deck Tan, and White, to lighten. High points are picked out with Vallejo US Dark Green and White. I started the "reverse dry brushing" on the dozer blade exposing the dark undercoat and the mottled blade. G
