Great job, Ben. You could have even submitted this one for the Steel Cats build... still going on ya know. I don't know that I have anything in the way of how it could be improved. I really like the way the finish came out. The only thing I can see is that maybe one of the exhaust (Right cool air intake - on the set of three) got plugged up.

Thanks for the great comments guys! Hasenpfeffer - good eyes! I've just looked at the intake on the right on the actual model and I can see exactly why it looks like that. The left hand one got some dark pigment/paint caught just inside the hollow but the right hand one was left untouched so it look like it's blocked! I'll have to sort that. Well spotted mate - I'd totally missed that one! I built a Tiger I for Steel Cats iirc - this build was just for me i.e. no pressure Talking of GB's I notice they aren't big on here. We really should get our heads together and arrange a new GB? I love a good GB I'm really pleased with this build. The kit was just killer and so easy to build! The only downside are the rear side spare track hangers as they are too wide. I've looked at the Dragon Panther G Late in my stash and they are the same so I recommend filing each side down so the links will slide on a lot easier. I'd have liked to have had full links on each side but I was going to end up snapping a hanger off as it's bloody hard filing them down when they are fitted! I hope to see Andy build his JP now - I know he has this kit in his stash! Thanks again guys, Ben

The final pics really brought out the color of the tank Ben ..... looks superb ! Godfather Dave has had a LOT of his wildlife work published - that's what he does and unfortunately he doesn't (yet) have a super close-up Macro lens hence all my 'final' photos can't be too close up as they don't look right but hell, they look a damn sight better than the photos from my 6mp digi cam! His set up cost him nearly £2K! Unbelievable! It's all Nikkon and I know how much their rifle scopes cost as I have one on my .243 (fox/deer rifle). He said to me "do your modelling buddies think the photos look good"? I said yes but no one has commented and I know jack about cameras! Should he be doing anything with the settings? They look great imo but should he be doing anything different? Any hints would help him - remember all his photography is done at 200yds plus (wildlife). Thanks fellas, Ben

Hey Ben, you don't really need a macro with a camera like he's got. I shoot my stuff at 85 (I guess it's somewhat macro since the focal length at 85 is 1.2 ft (.35 m) on my camera. But it doesn't seem that close until you look at the full size photos. I can crop the original size to show detail of the areas I think are interesting. I'm sure you could do the same with a little manipulation of the originals. The only thing I do besides trying to get good lighting (which he'll have no trouble with in his setup) is to close the aperture to 18 or 22 so I get a good depth of field - more of the tank in focus. The trade off is a little graininess that people like you, I or most everyone else will never notice anyhow.

Thanks fellas, Ben The main improvement I was commenting on was that the improved lighting brought out the colors of the tank .I don't know what kind of photo setup Dave has . What ever it is it works Ben .

What ever it is it works Ben . I honestly know next to nothing about cameras. All I know is that it's very big, has various lenses and LOTS of buttons on it. His wildlife stuff is amazing - especially the insects. Like I say he normally photographs at distance but given the opportunity he grabs some great insect shots. He photographed a Bluebottle and the way his computer could zoom in on the downloaded image to just the eye so you could see all the little tiny hexagons that make up the eye of the fly was just mind blowing. Next time I see him I'll ask him about it. I do know it's 24 Megapixel? Ben
