Cheers Bill i think i got the size about right Thanks Andy, steady now dont go all self harm on me I was having a look at the helmet last night, and, after checking a few bits online i decided that it should have a bit of decoration. I have a needle point etching tool and i started with a celtic pattern which i was just going to do on the crest, however once i started i couldnt stop so ended up doing the whole of the right side pic of the left side side...very plain And the right side after several hours of scratching My only problem now is i have to do the other side the same Paul

Looking really great Paul, I can imagine Tony Robinson and the Time Team crew getting all excited and tongue tied if they found his beautifull helmet on one of their digs. Looking forward to more. Dennis

Poor casual guy doesn't get any hands until after the horse is done! At least he's got a comfortable seat from which to watch the next round! Nice progress Paul!

Cheers Leon horse coming up Andy im getting worried about you, first the self harm now your jaw muscles arnt working many thanks all the same cheers Bill he will keep out of trouble with no arms for now Many thanks Bruce Many thanks Beast glad you like it So on to the horse, first of 2, ive spent the last few hours cleaning it up and re doing the musculature from where the filler was. Ive also trimmed away most of the halter just leaving what i need The harness is fairly basic, consisting of a girth strap over which was a layer of cloth. The yoke was then tied to this with a chest strap also tied to it to stop it being pulled back. all for now Paul

jees CB yr sooooooooo impatient .....yr ok swmbo wasnt watching............ ........I could show it to her though Cheers Bill one HP nearly done Andy more coming yr way as long as nothing else is dropping off or not working, i would hate to be responsible for a body malfunction I worked the hair around the ankles just to make them pop a bit more, and then added the blankets, i think these were made from felt as the ones in the pics i have look quite thick, Ive also added the indent where the yoke will fit so it should make it look like a nice secure fit all for now Paul

Many thanks Bruce and Bill next part of the horse was the mane. ive never been happy with the manes that come with kits, they are always very lame with little of no movement in them, even when they sculpt a horse galloping, Just watching the pony in the paddock next to us, and even though shes standing still eating, her mane and tail are always on the go either getting blown by the breeze or shes flicking flys off. so here is a pic of the mane as it comes Because ive dropped the head the run of the mane is wrong anyway so ill have to turn it round and put it on the other side. So starting at the front im using spru and my progravure, and adding bits of spru I can flatten the spru out using the pyrogravure, and then just keep adding bits of spru along the length of the mane I then added a bit of the mane that had gone over to the other side, not the dark side , Once that had hardened, it only takes a few minutes, i then shaped it again with the progravure and added the hair effect There is still a bit more work to do on it, just filing and sanding, but i think it makes it more interesting and more realistic. with the tail im going to make it.............. Swishing for want of a better word all for now Paul

I like the direction you're taking the mane and tail Paul, will definitely add more 'dynamism' to the scene. You've also discovered a second potential product line to go with your pre-stretches sprue...pre-melted sprue!
