Good evening, Stepping right out of the comfort zone, well at least a zone I am more used to Thought I would let you in on the adventure to date. Steps 1 to 6 completed \ started to date, so a quick look at progress so far, Many thanks to Dutchy \ Ken Holland for advice, helped things along no end. However, need to learn what mirror image means as some of the trials and tribulations to get this far need to have been seen to be believed. Never mind, all part of the fun More as and when. Tim

Another interesting build I'd missed. That's a tank I'll build some time in the future, I'll follow very interested. Knowing your talent, Tim, it'll be fun.

Steady as she goes there Tim! Any progress is good progress and when you rush, that's when bad things tend to happen!

???Can you imagine the noise made by those tracks sliding along on the runners? Bruce,..I think you'de be suprised at how quiet these beauties are, compared with some of the more modern stuff. We saw A privately owned Churchill driving last year at Tankfest,in Bovington.....Oh,and the Tiggy, and not much difference between them, noise wise.. CeeBee If you wanna see more pics, they are in the Library section,here..... modelerssocialclub.proboards.com/thread/1531/tank-museum-bovington-tankfest-2012#

Chris, Thanks for the Churchill picture and link. Was wondering about the colouring for the tracks and that is just about perfect for what I had in mind. Also helps out on the green Not much black lacing though! Tim

Leon, No problem - it is a secret development prototype. The gearbox was built mirror image so had more reverse gears and only one forward, so solution was to reverse the tracks.......... More later including build impressions so far and as for etch!!!!!!!! Tim

Good evening, Pete, Andy, Leon,Bill & Dan B, Nice to have you along, I hope I can keep you interested \ entertained. DickyF, In short - yes! Very enjoyable, but also very time consuming. Several near disasters along the way but still fighting. As for etch, you see so many comments on this subject that you may be tempted to shy away. That was how I felt, but all I can say is it's easier than you think, and as complicated as you make it. Go slowly and hopefully you get the results. Some bits you wonder why? the shroud bit for the bessa - once in place you lose the detail. Unless of course I have read the instructions wrong and bollaxed it up! Few more pics to keep you updated on progress, Left, right and center, Rear view with dreaded etch, And front view with bessa........ is it wrong? Answers on a postcard please More as and when. Tim

I have never built this tank and always thought it would be very cool to weather one.
Very nice work Tim, especially the tracks. Looking forward to seeing this one done.

Nice progress Tim! I'm with Dicky on the use of PE...just because it's on the fret doesn't mean it's better or has to be used. Sometimes the PE makers use a 'kitchen sink' approach in an attempt to increase the 'value' of the sets being offered, but like anything in the hobby, it all comes down to using what makes sense. Of course, there are often cases where you're given no choice but to use PE parts in a kit or similar and you have to bite the bullet. It can be intimidating to many but in reality it's just one more way to approach detail...use it when it works, ignore it when it doesn't!

Oh, I am just missing too many here...sorry bout just showing up Tim!! Promise to share the popcorn...Buffalo Flavored too!!
Nice piece of work here!! Have not had at one of these yet, but love the looks!! As for the shinny stuff...with the others I am (say it with a Yoda voice, it works)Take it or leave it. Not particularly bothered if I do have it and it can make a nice enhancement but I have have seen some of the fellas do much better with the kit part than most can with the metal!! Keep up the fantastic work!!
