Good evening,
Not really sure what was going on.
Started with pure Lifecolor at 15psi, not much coming out, increased the pressure still no joy. Tried it with AB cleaner added and was better but soon started to dry? up. Went again, this time with water and still no joy. Increased the pressure, increased the pull back on needle etc ended up with one side running with paint other parts only misted and other surfaces with blobs of paint. In summary a complete Horlicks. Tried all pressures between 15 & 40, varicose needle settings and much effing & blinding in the marshes and gave up.
Still, on the plus side, I know it works well as a jet wash.

Tim...difficult to tell what happened, but LC paint does need thinning.Eth Middleton said it was best to use their own thinners, but you could get away with de ionised water,at about 50/50.15psi would seem about right, but what do I know,I don't paint stuff!!A small drop of AB cleaner doesn't hurt, and about the only other things are distance from the subject, and keeping the nozzle clean.

Good evening, Stripped it, checked all parts and really cleaned it - airbrush that is Bought some Tamy XF-58 Olive Green and X-20A thinner and mixed up a 50\50 mix and tried again. Not blindingly perfect but much better than last attempt. Still need to find best settings etc but at least got a 95% coverage from one charge of the brush and quite a bit smoother than I expected. A few pictures for your appraisal - As I said, still needs some TLC, but at least I feel I have a base to work from and will resist the temptation to bin it. Bit of weathering and dirt \ dust can hide a multitude of sins and hopefully I can only get better with the new paint applicator thingy. Tim

I second the guys above, very nice base.
As they said above, LC paints need thinning, definitely.

Good evening,
Thanks for looking in and the comments, lets hope everything comes out nicely on the weathering front. Some detail painting required before that though.
Boss
Not sure that it is entirely the correct colour, but I'm with you in that I like the colour.

Base coat looks good from here Tim! Like anything, once you weather it the tone will shift so getting the 'right' tone on the base coat isn't really that important.

Good evening, After what seems like an age I have finally got some more done with this little beauty. Got a little detail painting going and decided it was time for a coat of Klear - next up some dec's, some more Klear then on to pin washes? Who knows what will happen, as I am seriously entering uncharted territory, could work, could be a disaster. Still, nothing ventured, nothing gained and at least to my eye it looks the part. More soon, Tim

Good evening, Not sure with how this is going, but I have applied a pin wash of lamp black oil paint thinned with white spirit and it is now looking like this - I think it is headed in the right direction but still needs some work. The variation in tone of the olive drab, especially the overhead shots, show up my limitations with an airbrush, but with a little work I think I can get the right look. Means more experimenting with oil paints as a weathering medium but hopefully the transitions can be softened and still retain the lightness on upper surfaces. As ever all comments welcome. In other words, HELP!!!!!! and what do you think? or even advise. Tim
