yep, possible project in the near future. I have been asked to do this M-51 for someone. It has been a couple of years since I last did a comm model, and I'm thinking of taking on this project. Here is what it will be. FOR DISCUSSION ONLY The kit will be the Tamyia offering with possible AM tracks and not sure about using PE for the fenders.

Great photo! If there is anyone that can do it right, it's you. I like that really dark rust on the left track that is still on there. Good luck!

That is the kind of photo a modeler needs to get inspiration from ! In your hands it will be another stunner Rob ! I like the sun bleached sand color and the dark rust ! That'll give nice contrasts.

As promised, although a bit late, the kit and some progress. The kit and sprue shots with extras. The tracks are from AFV. The kit hull is made up of seperate parts ie; floor, sides, front/rear and upper hull. The damage to the front fender done by thinning the kit molded on part and the hole made wit a knife. For discussion onlyWill work on it more when time permits.

Still have to open the hole in the fender a bit more once all is dry. The plastic is very thin and fragile so I wanted the upper and lower hulls mated before messing with that anymore..

I have been studying the b/w ref pics and it seems like this tank was hit through the front fender, blowing the track....and maybe on the other side. the reason why I say this is that in the ref pics you can see two sets of roadwheels off in the distance to the far side of the tank. Will study these pics more to get an idea of how to do the unseen side.
Still much more to come fellas.

Thanks jack. I've touched it a bit.
ok, so one of the things that and the customer wanted to show was the missing muzzle brake. After a few tries I managed to get close to the threaded end as possible without going insane. pics of this later. Right now I'm working on the return rollers....removing the rubber. I have rubberless wheel rims so that saves from doing those. Pics later on when there is more progress.......don't want to bore anyone eh.
