Track looking good... believe me I love em' Fruils. It doesn't bother me when I work on them because they are hard to break and they look GREAT at the end. I use dress pins instead of supplied wirings.

Thanks Andy glad you like them so far .Thanks for the tip on the dress pins.I have some and they may work if i drill the holes a little bigger.

I didn't have to drill holes for my fruis. I used thinnest dress pin available at fabric store. It was just perfect... just a plier to insert them in and put just little CA near the tip before you push the pin all way in to hold securely.

Nice beginnings on the Fruit-Loops buddy!! Bet at the point your at, you rolled it up and played with em like a snake..draped them across your fingers...then said "the tedious assembly is worth it...I like these!!" They will look great once your done my friend!!

Very good analysis T the tedious assembly is well worth it.They are a lot better than the rubber bands .Got one question for you fuiliholics. How do i put small drop of CA on without gluing the links together?

Saahhhhweeet! Almost there! As for the CA, I use a pin or toothpick. I try and stand the track on end and keep "track" of where I ended. Sometimes a lighting source from and angle will help with that!!

Robbo, they are a joy to assemble and look really good .If i decide to use these more often i have to get me some optivisors so that opening up the hole and inserting the wire will be a lot easier.

Ah the joy of track building...you've discovered the secret! Develop a system and get in the groove and off you go. Football games also make for great diversions for track building too...almost that time of year again!

Hi Leon,
I'm with the guys. Fruitloops are the best choice you can make for any model. I try to use them whenever I can.
They are not in any case the most detailed (though they tend to be always good detailed!), but are just a joy to handle. Insert the pin, a drop of super-glue on it and then they can be even mistreated without breaking.
I make sets of 8-10 links which are joined at the end to a track run. Working only in such small sets, I can assemble most tracks really fast in under two hours (for both sides). Once fully assembled I pull a little bit on the ends to get both track runs to the same length. This will also work as a self-locking on the pins as they thus deform slightly.
Just no comparison to my last track...
Cheers, Tobi
Always make sure the track doesn't hang too much on the running gear. Modellers tend to exaggerate this, bad a badly tensioned track is like suicide when going cross-country and in a combat situation, as it will be prone to come off. No crew would ever want this...
