Thank you Andy! I used Vallejo's Dunkelgrau AFV Painting System Set. Not a bad little set of paint, just really tiny bottles! But cheap if you can if you can find em.

Thanks fellas! Appreciate the kind words!! A bit slow going as I needed to apply the decs and squirt a clear coat in preparation for the next stage. The paint, as I mentioned earlier, is Vallejo's AFV Painting System. Not as wide of a range and the bottles are smaller compared to their competitors, but a nice flavor I think. I want to say the set runs about $15 US...comes with a primer, 4 shades and a satin clear coat. I think with thinning like I did, lightly and judging on how I spray my coats, one set should allow painting of several models. Case in point!! Here is the little Pz.II next to something I recently painted, my BT-7 from Tamiya; both painted exactly the same way with the exception that the BT-7 has a 4BO shading instead of the Oxide undercoat. The BT-7 is for a review/review/feature (Kit/e-book/build) for Armorama coming up soon! I need to finish a couple things on her and things will be off to press so to speak! The side by side comparison does show the effects of washes and weathering on the final paint rather nicely. As always, thanks for tuning in for a bit!! Hope to have some more tomorrow at some point!

Looking good... I've been watching a lot of the blogs with the armored vehicles as I've been considering trying to do one. It'll have to wait until I get settled in the new house. I'll be watching as I got a lot to learn. Looking sweet though

What are the best kit brand for armored vehicles... As far as fitment, detail and ease? Just curious as I've seen so many different brands used

Thanks Moose! Appreciate you swinging by!! You should have a try once you get settled! Armor is a fun genre...also makes for a nice break for you from the norm! As for kits...I would suggest Tamaya 1st and then Hobby Boss for starting out in this field. Tamiya are Shake and Bake (some folks hate this term)!! They fall together almost! Easy to work, easy to follow the instructions and the pricing is sometime much lower...same with Hobby Boss. Actually both of these kits(my last picture)...under $35, link and length tracks (not bandies), fair amount of parts but not so many you go blind (Dragon) and a small amount of photo etch to get you started!! The way to go! You just need to find out what you want to try 1st...WWII Allied/Axis...Post war...modern...etc....

Pheew...seem to be doing more running around on the weekend than anything else!! OK "another" update.... I did mention how I dislike doing camo, yes? So, Leon was correct in a sense that next up will be washes and weathering....only thing was a little Camo action was going to ensure first! I have to tip my hat to Tobias..."Well played my friend"!! I originally wanted to go with a nice WW on this puppy; however, Tobias beat me to the punch!! LOL!! My last thought was of course camo...I did say I hat applying it...right? Anywho, from what I read, these mini coffins were shipped off to Mother Russia to spend some quality time with the 12th Pz.Div. White wash was out...thanks Tobias!! SO a nice Gelbbraun approach it will be..... A tad bit "clean" at the moment! A little chipping and a wah-chin' maybe a filtah or tu and she might come around!! As always, I thank you kindly for hanging out for a bit!!!

Gray and yellow, now that's one you don't see too often. Good job on it, T. You hide your hatred of camo patterns well!

How did you put black over the decal? You must have re applied them.

Hi Bruce! Black? No black in the decals, this particular Balkenkreuz only has the white lines. I applied the decal, clear coated, masked off and shot the camo.

Rob - Thank you kindly Sir! As for the camo masking....'Tack-it' (or something like that) temporary poster tack stuff...stole it from my kids! Work like Blue Tack. Stuff has stayed soft for about 8 months now and still works even after I sprayed to poo out of it with everything from paint to hair spray. Couple buck at Wally World or some facsimile of a box store. Fanx Dicky!!I appreciate your kind words on this! I should probably talk to my doctor and have her give me some Valiums for when I paint camo, ey?
