Boots cheers mate I had not looked there luckily I found a figure that with some modification should work well,



They don't have it in stock at the moment but are waiting on some to arrive. All that's needed is to remove any insignia and change the head. As luck would have it I have a perfect one with a marine cap so that should work!

Dicky/Craig Thanks chaps glad you like it. Just a little progress now, all the decals are on over a gloss coat. Now for some restrained wear and chipping then filters and washes.

cheers guys, if you look at Bravo 6 figures especially the Vietnam ones some really do look like characters from the film platoon. The figure I'm using looks like John Wayne in "green berets"

Slowly making progress on this I have added a pin wash followed by a couple of dusty filters. No to keen on the dusty look so may tone it down a tad. Need to go back over with more pin washes and a couple more filters before a matt varnish.

The stowage has been painted and I made up some pop cans a packet of fags (camel of course) an mre pack and a couple of smoke grenades to populate the mutt all form the spares box too!

Nice progress on the gear there Pete! I always thought you'd have to be awfully brave/crazy to crew one of these vehicles...even with the range on a TOW, you're still a pretty exposed target!

Cheers guys glad you like the camo it's different that's for sure. The model has now had a matt varnish and most of the shiny bits have been painted or added. On the tow launcher I punched out some optics using old black 35mm negative film and also punched out a face for the mirror using party scatter. The model then got a light dusting with tamiya buff and earth to start off the dust.

I am working on the dust and mud at the moment and as you can see it's not fully dry. More layers will be added then I can work on the upper surfaces and the interior.I'm using pigment fixer to build up the mud in layers. The figure is on it's way thanks to Lee at field of glory models. He emailed me saying they had one but the boots on the figure had broken off. No real problem as I am going to have to convert the figure anyway.
