Hi chaps. Thanks for the kind words and special mention to Keith for even more rapidly emptying my already dwindling bank account. Dicky, good thought buddy but sadly in this case it doesn't apply ( I wish it did, I really do). In true Tamiya big scale kit tradition, the instructions are populated with photos of certain constructed elements, the fender is one of them, no join line on theirs whatsoever. I'm still gently sanding it back and I'm almost to the stage where I will lay on a coat of white primer and check for horrors, it's difficult, especially where the profile of the fender changes from the sides upwards. I have run out of certain paints which mean the engine is on hold, I am concentrating on some other sub assemblies and should have an update later.

Thanks chaps. I'm afraid today's update is rather meagre for two reasons, firstly were off on hols Saturday, secondly, as mentioned earlier, I'm waiting on a paint delivery which won't be here until I return. So here it is, oil tank, battery cage and battery. Not a lot to say really, the chrome ribbed part is metal which adds a nice weight to it. The battery is nice with the HD logo on it, sadly all but invisible once installed. View from the left... View from the right... Sorry it's not more but both time and paint are tight!

Ill tell ya this though, your 1/16th kit will be more reliable than the actual AMF Bike was. Not a great time in the ole HD history books. Im all in from here brother!

Cheers chaps, a week in the sun will be just fine right now! Dicky, Leopard skin Mankini all packed, I'll refrain from a photo shoot... DF, I wish it was a real Harley mate, I really do. Bill, it's standard dress code over this side of the pond especially when the temperatures above freezing, just ask Dicky... Gary, don't panic, by builds are so damn slow, you're never late bro! Jeff, don't know where you found a pic of me and the lads on a weekend away, that's me at the back, cheeky grin and man boobs... Don't fly until tomorrow lunchtime so I'm passing the time cleaning up the substantial amount of bodywork that comes with this kit, happy days.

Chaps. Back in the UK and settled back in. Got a small opportunity to carry on where I left off. Rear brake assembly and side stand assembly popped together and painted, both have tiny metal springs so they retract... A tentative start has been made on the engine with the construction of the basic barrel and head parts. All are two part assemblies and trust me when I say that after cleanup and assembly, you can still see daylight between the two halves of the barrels. I'm hoping that a smear of Cyano and some heavy primer coats followed by a colour coat will hide the nasties. That's it for now.
