Thanks fellas. It's going pretty well though I did have some minor issues that I was gonna point out in the build notes when I finish. I'm planning a diorama scene on a base for her too. Never done that before. Question about weathering for anyone who can chime in... What should I use to seal the model, paint and decals before I do a wash on it. I'm not really experienced with the washes just the dry brushing. I don't wanna complete it then spray something on it that'll ruin it. Thanks for any advice Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using proboards

Hi Moose, You need to have a satin/gloss finish to get the best out of the washes otherwise they generally spread out to much on a matt finish causing unsightly stains. I use very thin coats of Alclad Aqua gloss. this can be brushed or sprayed with an air brush (I always use an air brush). Vallejo Satin varnish also works well. so does Pledge Klear (or Future). Hope this helps. Best Regards Keith.

Thank you much for the advice Keith. Very much appreciated. I do have some future left and some Alclad... Didn't know I could use the alclad for that purpose. Hopefully I'll be sealing the Mustang up by the end of the weekend. I'll let you know how it turns out. I keep hearing about this mystery future mixture. Haven't found any info on what to mix it with. Thanks again

Mid coat Tamiya bare metal silver. You can see on the wing I smoothed down the rivets for the most part to give it that "puttied", silver painted appearance. The fuselage will receive an Alclad aircraft aluminum treatment.

After the final, maybe, layer of paint, I'm a little disappointed that the rivets still show up so well. I may re-do the wings. You can see the difference between the alclad aircraft aluminum on the fuselage and the bare metal silver by tamiya (as12). I'm really happy with the alclad and the rest of the paint overall. Thanks again fellas for all the kind words and support. Please feel free to critique as needed.

It's ironic Moose...you're actually trying to reduce the detail level on this beauty! Nice work on the silver and anti-glare.
