Moose, your '51 is looking really great. Detail is superb and the finish is really nice. I don't think you can beat alclad for getting a great finish. looking forward to more, more, more!

Starting on the decals. I'm not using the full set that came with the kit. Waiting on new decals that are of a similar plane but different pilot and squad.   |

The decals surrounding the camera port, 3 total, were a pain in the *** lol. I got em though.... Took about an hour |

Looks great, man! Love the lightning bolts.
Kind of surprised Tamiya went so deep with the rivets after DML took so much flak (hah) for doing the same.

Nice work on the markings, I can see what you mean about that camera port being a pain. Lovely work for sure, lighting bolts are a nice addition.

Beautiful work on paint and decals. It's making me sick really. I did this kit about a year ago and I had some issues with the Alclad primer that pretty much ruined the build. Considering doing another one... This is fueling that idea big time.

Don't let it get ya down, I will honestly suggest using the Tamiya fine white primer for the bare metal look and I used the Tamiya regular gray primer on the wings (to help soften the rivets along with sanding them down a little). I can't say anything bad about the alclad primer simply because I have never used it. I've had a lot of luck with the Tamiya primers. Good luck if you start another |
