Thanks Tony , Andy , Lui for the kind comments . Finally got to the point where I felt I could remove the masking .Sprayed more flat over all .More weathering to come .

Excellent camo painting Carl I'm not that up on early war German AFV camo patterns. I find that scheme an odd mixture of colours and cant see how it can have been that effective but the Wehrmacht obviously had a much more informed opinion Looking forward to ya next post Los

Thanks again guys for the comments. Wouts , I'm going to have the hood able to be lifted off so as to display the engine when the build is done .I put too much time into it to cover it up . Marc , its voodoo . Los , I loosely based the camo on this photo and then used my artistic license to fill in the blanks . This black and white photo does not show the definition between the dunkelgrau and the dunkelbraun well so I edited the original picture to enhance the shades of gray . Other wise it looks like some kind of stripes of dunkelbaun to me . There must of been some comotion going on to attract all these felows , either that or it was a training outing . Looks like both tires are flat and the engine access panels in the hood armor are off .

Could it be someones actually had the nerve to shoot back at it and its been damaged ? The tyres are defo deflated and its getting a good look over. Perhaps the realisation the vehicle and crew were vunerable to even light weapons at close range. Were the body panels armoured ?

carl that is absolutely stunning sir.
still cant get past the jawdropping realism of the engine. i hope to try to do some of that type of work soonish. you have captured the "look" of a real, working vehicle.

Hello Carl, the photo you posted is from the vehicle destroyed by a STUKA, The stripes You see at the front are from chicken wire used for attaching foliage, On the side there is the Reichswehr camo that is showing through the burned away gray paint. Normally in Poland and France the brown camo was in blotches on the gray, but I like yours it is original. Here is another picture of the same vehicle were you can see the chicken wire and a branch more clearly On this one you can see the 3tone Reichswehr colors coming through Eddy

Los looks like Eddy got the answer for us . Eddy I knew you as out there somewhere with the answer . Good pics and thanks for clearing up so many of my questions . Didnt know bout the Reichswehr having this vehicle or that they were around after 1935 ? I saw another photo of that Stukadamaged Sdkfz 8 W/flak18 but didnt realize it to be the same vehicle as the one I posted above .
