Hahaha...can we get a "what what"? Looking closer at pic #2, can you talk to me a bit about how you painted/weathered the seat? Looks way better than my "paint it leather brown" technique. Heh.

Dupes , thanks ! I'm still learnin how to master my technique of weathering . Still improving on it as I go and come up with new methods . About the drivers seat , to begin with I modified the kit seat cushions by cutting and sanding the texture into them and then I sprayed a coat of Tamiya XF 52 mixed with XF 3 ( to obtain a light leather look) for the base and then I coated that with a thick layer of burnt umber artist oils and rubbed it off with my bare finger to get the variation in color depth when all was dry I used some black chalk dust with a brush to exaggerate the corners and depressions in it and sealed all of it with a acrylic dullcoat . It all took about a week before I was satisfied .
Andy , good dirt huh ?
Gary Thankz bro .
Tony ,oh yah I like that , thanks !

I agree with Dupes, the way you weather the leather is stunning. Not to mention all the rest of your weathering techniques.
I really love the look of all your builds.

Got to love the look of this one with the fenders and hood in place...really gives it a mean look! Have to wonder why they even bothered with the crosses though...but I suppose regulations are regulations!

Yup , its all in them details aint it . They sure slow me down though . I'll never get thru my stash at this rate .

Interior is looking good, well painted. Only one remark and that is the first aid box,on German vehicles t was not white, in this period I think the most common color for it was green with a white text I like your fire extinguisher, never saw it but it is special and very good made. Some suggestions if I may The scratches and chipping are top, you could give some of the bigger ones a fine outline, on one side only, with a very light grey, it gives more dept to the chips. Try to vary them in color too, because they are not all scratched in, in the same depth. like I did here The weathering with mud looks OK, but the line between mud and the clean gray paint is to sharp for me. Perhaps you could try to blend in some sand colored oil paint around the mud to make a more natural transition. Something like I think you did on the wheels which look superb. The white of the decals, number plates and crosses, is still to bright and sharp for a well used vehicle I think . I always use a very, very light cote of Yellow ocher or natural umber to tone it down, It will be visible on the grey paint to but that that can be faded out or cleaned with a brush and a little white spirit. I hope you can do something with it, these are just my personal thoughts Eddy

Right sweet brother. Are you going to leave the panels off the hood? It'd be a shame to hide the masterful job you've done on the engine
Regards, Mark

Thanks to all of you for looking in and for your comments ! Wouts , The wood on the rifle stocks was about the easiest I've ever done to get that look . I just smeared some burnt umber oil over the base of Tamiya XF-52 and wipped it off .
Pete ,muddin is a dirty job , glad you like it mate .
Eddy , good points you brought up . I see your idea about the chipping .....just hope I can make those modifications at this point . If not then next time . Its all about the learning curve imo . That's the challenge and what keeps this hobby interesting .
Mark , yes the panels will stay off . I'm going to have them stored on the vehicle . In fact the entire hood is removable .
