Hi chaps, dragging this over from the old Scratchmod site with a view to finishing it sometime soon. I won't transfer over all the narrative, instead a few shots of progress along the way.

So First up is a nicely detailed engine... Mated to the transmission, rear subframe and exhaust system... Front subframe and brakes... And alloys and lovely low profiles...

Bodywork First stage which is mostly masking and painting. Then it starts to evolve as more parts are added. And further on... To being pretty much sorted.

Body shell... Air intakes added and much filling and smoothing followed by white Fine Surface Primer... The weapons of choice. And the base coats start to go on. And that is where we are at, will update as progress is made.

Just getting caught up here. Most impressive building and painting. Fantastic job on the yellow. I can never get that color to cover even.

Thanks Jack, it's one of the colour options for the actual vehicle so it seemed a cool idea. Bit more progress. Screen masked and painted.

And back to the bodywork. I'm using a two part colour coat then the lacquer, the pic posted earlier in the thread shows the base yellow, today, I added the second stage, the Pearl Yellow top coat. Three Pearl coats so far, each one flatted back with 2000 grade wet and dry used wet. So far, 11 coats have been applied. Appreciate the light conditions are different today but hopefully you can see the colour change... Cheers chaps.

Cheers Boo, it is actually slightly more yellow than the pic suggests, it must be the pearl finish reflecting the light somewhat.

Pearl colour isn't as daunting as it may sound Boo and with the colour range expanding all the time there's plenty to choose from. If you fancy a go, PM me ya addy and I'll send down what's left after I finish the Lexus.

I can appreciate such a build a lot, being a military builder ! So nice and shiny, clean assembly...magnificent !

Thanks Guy, appreciate your comments! Sorry for the quality of the next pic. It's meant to show that I have got three coats of clear on it. It goes on semi matt but using some Tamiya Fine polishing compound it brings it up to a nice lustre without being over shiny. Now I hope final assembly can begin!

Thanks buddy, appreciate it! Right, sorted everything, lights, grills, emblems etc. and here's how it all ends up. Will post some more pics when the light is better, thank you all for following on this and the old forum...

Thank you gents, I'm fairly pleased with the outcome.
Quite a steep learning curve this one, more complex to build than a bike and potentially numerous pitfalls!
