Now don't you all go crazy at once over this. Here's what I'm wanting to build next. One of my favorite airplanes of all time, and an obscure variant to boot. G

Oh, a pointed tip wings spit The last time I built a Spitfire I was maybe 14 or 15... All the times I see someone building one I feel nostalgy. All this means: Count me in, I'll follow.

Nice one G......This is basically a MkVb,with the extended wingtips, and a pressurised cockpit and the extra internal fuel tank in the fuselage.Built to operate at higher altitudes, hence the extended tips on the wings for better stability.

Hey, I'll go out on a pointy wing tip and jump on board too! Last count I think I've got 3 or 4 Spits sitting in the stash waiting on some love. Go ahead "G", get me motivated to get one or three started!

Well we have had roughly 36 hours of rain, straight, so between that and work not alot has been accomplished this week. Good news though I did basecoat the pit with MM Acryl British Interior Green.
Pics tomorrow after I see my stepson and his lovely wife off. They decided to leave Las Vegas and after breakfast with the family tomorrow they start their move to Seattle. They have contemplated this for a while now and Brian scored a good job up there so he pulled the trigger and away they go.
Sad in a way but the kid's thinking straight.

We have progress! That's a dark gray for the panel and accents. I shade it further from there. G

Thanks guys, Andy it's 1/48th scale. Joe I drybrushed with a light gray enamel over the dark gray panel. Painted the instruments straight black first.

Thank you all!
Got it buttoned up and man there were fit issues galore. Wing to fuselage seam was a nightmare, I used a short length of sprue to jack up the left wing to fit the fuselage. There was at least a 1/16th inch step there. Cowling wasn't too bad, careful sanding fixed the seam there. The tail was darn near perfect in alignment with no seams.
Pics to come.

For me Spits are the aircraft equivalent of the Leopard. Simply beautiful. Looking forward to how this one develops. P
