Hey folks! In an effort to clear the slate so to speak, I have been stuck in site work and review land here and all over the web. The plan is to start off 2014 maybe actually building for myself again and of course stick with all things MSC related. But until the first of the year comes, I need to keep plugging away. This does not mean that I can't try to mix a little pleasure with my work!! As many of you know, I work a number of reviews here and abroad. I started another one and managed to make some decent progress and thought I would share a little something I played with last night! I just finished reviewing an AFV Paint set for our friends at Armorama and it should be posted soon! Coming soon to MSC there will be a few more of these reviews as our friends at Vallejo have supplied me with a couple to look at for us...so hang in for those soon. The pleasure part! A quick build and of course some slinging of the paint!! The kit is Zvezda's P.IV Ausf D. This is a kit, as you will see is geared for the Wargamer community. But even given the 1/100 scale this looks pretty cool, literally a "snap" to build and add a neat little paint set and this is pure FUN!! Kit cost about $5 US and shipping was free!! I think there is even some package deals with other kits on Evil-Bay for the same price or less...LOL!! The Kit!!Yup...about that quick to assemble. Cut the parts up and roll it across a sanding stick and done! PRIMER!! Mmmmm...the hum of the compressor...the feel of the shinny cold airbrush in the hand!! Size usually does not matter...but I am certainly not trying to compensate for anything here...LOL!!! Why stop with one coat when you can add more paint!!! Here she is in all her glorious smallness!! A little Afrika Camo action!! A little final chipping!! Not bad for a snowy night's work I think!!I plan on weathering this as well soon...maybe this afternoon once all the snow is removed from the driveway...LOL!!! I will update this with a link to the pending review as well as any progress pics from here on out!! As always, thanks for swinging by to have a peek!!!

LOL...that is the plan...for the most part!!! ...build somethings I have been thinking about for a while..maybe finish one or two outstanding projects and queens...work on some MSC site related items...sounds easy!! Doesn't mean I throw in the towel completely as I am sure there wwill be some favors that come up but if I cut things abroad down by half things might be back to normal!! Dicky...thhe "twins" are flying in next week for the Holidays...maybe I can get some things done before the clock chime midnight on the 31st!!

Now how can a guy not like this? Pretty amazing finish on something so small, very impressive. How could you see it with your airbrush in the way?
Regards, Mark

Thank Mark! Most appreciated! LOL...just enough room for the piece in one hand, AB right on top of it and my nose in between! To clear up any rumors...which are probably true most of the time, I was using acrylics...so no "fun time" while playing with the paints!!

Just a "little" weathering... Being used to oils and AK enamels there is a bit of a learning curve on the acrylic side of the isle. Very similar but you need to work sections and keep up with yourself. Whereas Oils and Enamels can dry a bit and can be worked these have an extremely quick drying time. With a good Satin or Mat Varnish these can be applied and re-wet with H 2O and worked into the corners and for pin washes. With the quick drying time there is two paths you can go with...application of more water based washes or even back to enamels....and then back again! Just another interesting combination of products to get the final results. I am really looking forward to getting back into something a bit larger to have a full whirl with these! Unless I decide to do something else to this one...I think I can call it finito! Thanks for having a L QQY!!

Well, this was started before 3D was popular (I wouldnt say "known" here). He shrinked it by casting the original 1/20 model down. In the WIP you claerly can see the process of it.

The concept is similar, I just think a bit less labor intesive. I like the results he has obtained! I lack the casting skills I think so it's back to the CAD for me... I added a pic above of another on too...I would have a go at that for sure!! LOL!!
