I've just had a nice surprise. I arranged a swap with my my buddy from on a popular UK-based forum.
I put up my recently purchased and already started Dragon M48A3 up for a swap for a similar started but going nowhere 'shelf Queen'. The M48 is a lovely kit but I'm a through-and-through German AFV fan and found that this build wasn't floating my boat and I really wasn't 'feeling the love' so I started work on my current WIP Pz.III Ausf.H.
My friend offered me a new Dragon Smart Kit with all bagged up sprues sealed and tidy. As a bonus my friend chucked in a new pack of Passion Models PE Tool Clamps and latches, a selection of extra 88mm shells, 88mm KT shell cases, helmets, Antennae, Grendes and some Dry Transfer German Markings. These arrived today along with the Archer Aerial Recognition Swastikas for my current WIP - nice suprise!
I swapped all this for my m48 kit, the Resin Mantlet Cover Upgrade kit from Legend, a Walkaround book for the M48 that I'd picked up along with a January issue of a Modelling Magazine that covers a build of this kit and has a nice walkaround section in it too.
The kit itself looks like a stunner. It's got a nice Aluminium barrel, loads of PE, 3 x Brass shells and some really nice looking Zimmerit, a colour instruction sheet which looks user friendly but we'll see. It comes with Magic Tracks but will I use Friuls? Ha! Oooh yeah!
