Evening chaps before i progress with tonights update many thanks to all who have been in ere to leave a comment its much appreciated The Base i have now completed the cobblestone street and now im turning my attention to the groundwork and painting i have taken some photos of my progress and thought i would write up a short SBS for you all as this technique can be used for brickwork walls as well as flooring 1. I started by measuring out the blocks i use a 1/35 figure to gauge a size as all bricks and paving have differing sizes for these stones have made them 5mm wide by roughly 7mm long using a ruler and pen i marked every 5mm i always work from the middle to the outside to keep the lines square. Then i use a stanley knife to cut in the mortar lines. A craft knife is now used to cut in the lengh of each block remembering to stagger the joints Once your happy with the layout run a cocktail stick along the lines you have just cut to get the mortar lines Next find a piece of styrene or balsa wood strip roughly cut to the size of a brick and use this to push some bricks down to simulate an uneven wall or roadway i use balsa as you can snap a piece and use the splintered end to texture the bricks. there ya have it taaaadaaaaaa brickwork now go over it with fine sandpaper to roughen it up a bit ready for paint Dan B

Stu,and Dan.....I've been following your superb builds, but not commenting much, because all I would have said has been said by others..that and the fact I didn't feel qualified to contribute Dan,your work just seems to get better and better with each build my friend, and it's pretty darn good already!! Stu,that camo on your kitty,is as good as I've seen, and the 'clean' look is something I do like ;)Are you gonna contemplate a MoM entry?

Stu,I know I suggested it,but could you still go and do what's needed to enter the MoM.ie Advise myself and one of the other Mods of your intentions, and choose the 3 pics you want us to use. This is just in case there is any problems posting an entry for any reason. (At least there is more than one record)
