Hi! Back again, after moving to our new place i couldn't resist to open a box and build something. My hobby room isn't ready yet so i can't paint at this moment I decided to build the old Dragon's JP, a terrible kit but perfect for what i want. It had to made lot's of changes, cutting, sanding to create the right look besides the structure i made in the panzer plates. I was inspired by a photo i saw from this knocked out JP in Hungery from the well know Mirko on ML. Specs: Dragon's command version Jagdpanzer Dragon magic tracks Alu barrel Trumpeter's Bergepanzer engine PE from the spare box and some scratch build stuff. I have limited internet at this moment so 2 pics for now, the rest will follow soon! The build must represent the last fight for this JP that is already beaten up but still on the move until it is finaly knocked out.. picture Mirko Bayerl, ML forum.

An observation? I don't believe the left track is a complete run as you're modeling it (though you can do it any way you want to ). There'd be no reason for the crew to take the time and make the effort to repair it like that. As it's not on the drive sprocket, it would provide no propulsion and, at best, only help the vehicle pivot on it's remaining track (which it could just as easily do on the remaining wheels). It's hard to see in the picture, but it looks like when the track broke forward motion caused it to run over the loose end as it came off the upper roller. There seems to be another track section sticking out from between the 2nd and 3rd road wheels. Like I said... just an observation.... A couple other observations just for grins... First, I don't know why, but that gun barrel looks exceedingly long. I know, they were. I guess the angle of the pic and the missing tracks and fenders just make it seem huge. And second, am I the only one who thinks that the entire roof is missing off the crew compartment? That dark shadow on top really gives me that impression.

That dark shadow on top really gives me that impression. they do that so they can tow it behind a retriever without as much further damage. Sometimes they are able to use the drive sprocket and other times not. Just depends on the damage and how quickly they want to haul it out of there. gary

Thnx for checking in guys it is nice to have you around! On late war pics you clearly see that the units were creative with field repairs and try to save as much material they could. @ Afv fan, the roof is blown of indeed but i left the roof on so don't have to make a interior in it.. lazy builder hey . But i decided to place a engine in it so i can create the blown of engine plate on the reardeck. A far as the tracks i do believe they are shorted tracks. To create a even more dramatic effect i mounted different roadwheels on the left side. This is a pic of another field repair of a knocked out Stug in Berlin. If you build this one without shown this pic you recieve a lot of comment right ? So if any of you guys want to build this one And some other well known pics of a knocked out collumn in Hungary with a JP with shortend tracks

Thnx Gary AFVfan, glad to make things clear Well i am out of contactglue so no PE today.. But i did some " magic" on the righthand side this afternoon I noticed that the middle idler isn't at the right place so i have to move this a bit.. Whit a little thin cement i can change the sack in the tracks so this shouldn't cause any problems.. I hope.. Well the weekend is almost over and also the fast updates but i want this build finished not far from now so stay tuned! Thnx for watching and feel free to comment

I love what you are doing, only one remark: the wheel hubs on the empty axles should be removed those hubs were attached only to the wheels and not to the axle. Just drill those axles a little bit out and it will be more realistic, like here on this bruckenleger IV. Eddy

Very nice progress on this one. Looking forward to more! Those reference pics definitely show the 'field expediency' tendencies of units in a hurry and facing a shortage of spare parts. Anything to keep a vehicle in service just a little while longer...

G, i just started Bill, yes those pics say everything for those last months, this is the way i like to build stuff, raw uncut Andy, your just in time time mate, bring out the beer and let's celebrate! Los, thnx, yes the kit is a real pain, nothing fits normaly.. But even a KO afv must look proper so when you start with this kit make sure your have a lot of sandingpaper at your table! Pete, thnx for dropping by, stay tuned! Thnx guys for checking in, just ordered the alu barrel a set of tool clambs to detail it some more. Let's see if we can make it as raw on the pics! For now have a great new years eve and i see you in 2014!!
