Jeez Marc! Are you trying to delete your stash by the end of the year to start all over again?

Jeez Marc! Are you trying to delete your stash by the end of the year to start all over again? Mr. Nut - I would have to do this every year until I was almost 90 to deplete my stash. Don't get worried yet!

Thanks Andy! I feel like I could do more (a LOT more). There's so much area to cover it feels like some of the "usual" 1/35 techniques are insufficient.

Nice work on the latest pair there dupes! I hear you on the scale difference, when the subject is that large, it calls for some different perspective/approaches for sure!

Any idea what those are, Bill? I know you've got a 1/16th something coming up... Sorry to disappoint Dupes, but no, there's nothing of that size in the stash or planned for the future. My one and only foray into 1/16 involved a Trumpeter T-34 (which was a lot of fun) but so big when finished that I had a hard time keeping it in one piece as it got moved around a lot and suffered as a result. The painting and weathering approach for it of course could use some of the same methods but everything was 'bigger' and so the end results kind of had to reflect that too. IMHO it's relatively easier to go down scale with techniques than it is to go up!

Agree with that last statement entirely!
For some reason I thought you had either the 1/16 38(t) or FT-17 waiting in the wings somewhere.

Next one is up - this time one of the figs for my weekly D&D game. 28mm scale Reaper Miniatures Owlbear. I'll preface this by saying that a) the Owlbear looks weird to start (half owl...half bear) and b) the pose it's in here is so dynamic it's REALLY difficult to get a good shot that encompasses the whole thing. Whereas most of my builds look to me in the photos like they do in person, this looks much more "complete" when you see the real thing. Something with it being so small, I'm guessing. More to come - 29-31 are awfully close to hitting the display case.

I like how they came out as well. I was trying to get a shot of their yellow glossy bloodshot-ness, but it didn't work. Taking my camera to a shop tomorrow to get those spots cleaned off the sensor (hopefully), will try to take some more after that.

Cars...hoo boy. I have a couple just to say I have them and to one day enter one at a show, but I have NO idea how to approach them. Doubt it will be before the end of the year, but I'll surprise you some time!

Hahaha...I will, and I do (does that make sense?)! I've been assembly lining builds, and several of them happened to hit the weathering stage yesterday. Short work to finish them up before the next round hits the bench!

Somehow I missed the Tiger. Love it and the new one as well. You really need to slow down. You're making the rest of us look bad I'm guessing you've got about 10 more in you before the new year.

Hahaha...thanks Jimmy! And I'm trying. I would guess you're about right with 10 more depending which ones I line up next. Am trying to sort that out now.

Alrighty...next one is up. Built this at an IPMS chapter meeting some time last winter (felt like building while we talked), never got around to painting it until this past week. Set it up on the same style base as the 1/48 Komatsu, don't like how this one came out as well as that one. Was shooting for "Russian steppes" but the colors didn't come out quite right. Either way, it's in the case!

Thanks Todd! This thing is pretty frickin' small - on par with a 1/72 Panzer IV. The Komatsu is considerably larger.

Nothing wrong with finishing two in a day, is there? This is the Italeri kit built OOB. Needed this one to wrap up my four-vehicle collection of 234s (pics in a different thread). Finally managed to track it down and get it thrown together. This is also my first kid-caused casualty...somehow he managed to grab it off of the middle of my mini-bench upstairs, pull all the wheels off (which luckily weren't glued yet), pull the gun assembly out (which luckily wasn't glued yet), stuff the wheels into the crew compartment, and "drive" it into the kitchen where I was cleaning up from dinner. Somehow I managed to get it (mostly) back together - good enough for a collection entry, anyway! Probably won't see a contest as an individual entry due to the many many necessary repairs. Either way, it's on the shelf.
