Here you are an apparently small update. I've been working on the suspensions and I'm half way done. These things are made of an awful lot of parts. Very realistic, but painstakingly long to assemble as I have to let all the small parts set before adding some more, otherwise they tend to fly away. Anyway, to make a long story short, here you are the pics showing the current state of the thing: Hope you like it, as always ACW gents

Mr. F, what I really appreciate is how solid is the assembly. They did a very nice job. But, unless they'd want to oversimplify, they had to add all those pieces. It's soviet engineer's fault Thanks for the comment

Man, your BTR is looking great... I am afraid I will buy more Trumpeter kits. My hobby shop has many Trumpy kits on 50% off sale and there was like 7 or 8 different BMPs and BTRs on sale. I thought about getting one but nope I got me Soviet WWII tank instead. Close call you can say! LOL

50% off sale Andy? Say what? Luigi - looking good! Although you know all of that's going to get covered with mud...

Andy I will do a BMP later this year, hopefully. Unfortunately trumpy BMP-1 doesn't have interiors, so I'll have to scratch some. BTRs are truly wonderful and very detailed. Get yourself one, they have so many different camos to choose from. There's one from Afghanistan that's a true eye candy Anyway I like what you chose, Trumpeter's KV series is so nice... I already have two, but I'll surely get more of them. Dupes, not much mud on this one, I'm going to depict it in Afghanistan during the '80s war and it will have a lot of dust but almost no mud.

This'll be one of those "at least I know it's there" moments won't it! All that work which will disappear behind the wheels Looks good though

Wouter, yes it's not the funniest work, yet much better than assembling tracks Steve, unfortunately you're right I hope some little parts of them will show if seen from the right angle

you think so...I usually tend to 'enjoy' assembling tracks a lot more than cleaning up/glueing those scary tiny parts together Cheers

As I told you on FB, these are made to be easy to clean. They have solid attachment points to the sprues that allow to clean most of the piece when it's still attached and the last part is usually placed so it's easy to hold the piece when you clean it. The hard part was cleaning the round parts, but with my scratchbuilt contour sander they were easily done

yeah, if you got stuff like that, and if they are put in a smart way on the sprue, it sure makes life easier. Sanding contours...really hate it, especially gun barrels...scares me a lot...I often try to avoid that
Cheers

I hated it so much that I scratchbuilt a replica of a tool I saw on the 'net.
In my previous modeling life, I built planes. And planes are made mostly of curve shapes... My worst nightmare were the airframe top and bottom, together with jet intakes

Luigi, love it! I have a growing interest in soviet vehicles and great builds like this fuel that even more, does this come with interior?
