Cheers Joe.
For the money, it adds such a lot to the engine bay, well worth it.

Thank you kindly chaps. Ok, follow on from yesterday's post. Engine in, exhausts assembled and painted and dropped into place. There are metal tips to the exhausts which are easily knocked off so will add them at the end of the build. The remaining four pieces of the chassis that I had to cut off while I straightened the chassis out are now back in place and painted. Not perfect but considering what I started with, I'm fairly pleased with the outcome, let's just say I'm modeling a 65 year old car that's had some chassis work. Back soon.

I have made a tentative start on the interior colour so all being well, there should be a modest update sometime over the weekend.

Hello chaps Interior underway, painted with a combination of Lifecolor blue and Grey for the inserts and Zero paints Cream from their new interior colour range. Slightly shoddy in places so will attempt to tidy before giving a coat of semi gloss clear. I'm not over hung up about getting this totally perfect as there is not much you can see through the fairly small windows. Finally, introducing not just a future build but also in a small way a donor for a few parts for the Merc...if all goes to plan! Back soon.

Always liked the cream, light blue combo Mence. Looks grand. A 57 eh? Another true classic. Am I seeing a wheel and tire swap possibly?

Hello chaps, much obliged, your kind support is appreciated. Jeff, wheels indeed or that's the plan, early indications suggest they may not fit. Onwards, interior assembled and decals added. Decals were a pain as the carrier film was quite prominent round the decal, too big to look ok, too small to trim. Lots of Microsol and Set added over a period of two hours got them to play nice...sort of. Needs a bit of detail painting, radio knobs, pedals etc. and we can move on. Thank you.

Hi Dicky, thank you buddy.
Actually the blue went on first, somewhere in my head I worked out it was easier that way but to be honest i don't think it matters. Common sense says apply the lighter colour first, hey ho!
Masking was done using overlapping layers of Tamiya's 18mm Masking Tape, once applied, run a toothpick gently round the seam and follow it with a fresh blade in a similar way that you might tackle BMF.
Next I need to see if the '57 Chevy wheels are gonna play nice, I have my doubts.

Chaps. Looks like the Chevy wheels are a no go, it will mean lots of cutting about, something I should have considered earlier in the build. It's a shame but no real biggy, I have another plan for them. Ok, pic say says it all really, first five coats of paint are on. Cheers.

Cheers Buddy, yes, clear coat will go on in time.
I took the opportunity to paint both bonnets and both sets of rear wheel covers? As I'm not sure which to go with yet.

Hi chaps, thank you.
Dicky, I think it's just my rubbish photography although the blue is more towards the red end of the spectrum.
Not sure about the louvred bonnet undecided as whether to go with that of the smooth one.
