RB that roll of tape is about thirty years old now ...Gawd ! Surprisingly there has been something's finished on this build . The kit included a nice breakdown of parts for the .50 cal . I drilled out the holes in the heat shied for a better look . The kit barrel had the hole in the muzzle actally molded into the barrel . Nice touch . The turret is mostly finished . The p.e. basket cover for the rotating sight took a few sessions . It took a little surgery on the plastic and p.e. to get a good fit .I added a few odds and ends from white styrene . Still have them dreaded "dingle berries" to deal with around the back of the turret . Ok , that's all folks .

Magnificent job, as always. Will you be using aftermarket stuff for chain and balls?

Lui , right now I'm struggling with the kit provided p.e. for the chain n balls and I aint getting very satisfactory results so I may look into something from after market . Any suggestions ?In other words ....Help ! Jeff , yep , a little bling always makes for a dressed up look ! I almost ordered an expensive p.e. update set for this thing from Eduard but with its price tag of more than what i paid for the kit .... .....paint covers it all anyway right ?

Can't have a Merk without the B&Cs at the back, I don't envy you that task at all Carl, but the rest of the doo-dads are looking nice and sharp on your Chariot! Now you know what to get Dicky for his B-day...Trumpy sprues with a garnish of white stuff.

After a few close calls towards near disaster .................... I actually had the chain and balls along with the cover finished a couple of days ago but after taking a second look at it the decision was made to scrap that and start over . I finished the second go around last night and shot some primer over all . This is the kit provided p.e. and the plastic balls that are molded onto the side of sprue . Cutting off the balls sent some of them into hyper space and they ended up in the next time zone . The plastic ball halves are to be attached to both sides of the p.e. chain but this resulted in some odd shapes due to the inconsistent thickness of the ball halves so I went with completing only the outside side of the chain side that will be facing the outside side so there was no reason to do the inside side ...... ...anyway the result looks better imo , so there ! The finished ball and chain was c.a. glued to a strip of .30 x .30 styrene and then plastic glued to the turret and basket . That way I had more control over the placement and it all came out straighter than my first attempt . This is where it sits now with a coat of primer . Bye for now .

Dupes , I liked the results also and good to hear you approve . Should look good with the correct dry brushing . Nems , ok ole musty whats this Uncle Carl about ? There's another Uncle around here and I know he's a old fart ! Agreed on the hidden track issue , what bother aye ? I had something else all typed out but after the p.m. I recanted it . The primer is a mix of Model Master enamels . I have better luck spraying enamels as a primer if there is a bit of gloss in it .Thanks musty ! Andy , thought you would ! Well enough typin for now .
