This Merkava IV is one futuristic looking tank . This model is from Academy , kit 13227 , Merkava IV LIC (Low Intensity Combat ---counter-insurgency, street-to-street inner-city asymmetrical type warfare of the 21st century )

I've been building this while putting off going back to Selbstfahrlatlfette flak 18 build .


Details not bad and the fit is good .

Andy , I agree about the space ship look . I was looking at some star trek pics and there is a resemblance there .But not the Merk . They had a pic of some space alien that reminded me of you .

I get a break while the girl is taking a shower . I'll take advantage of that to respond here . She's been a real treat as always . If she was around more often i'd lose 30 lbs in a hurry .

Nems , she's got her own mind (maybe thats typical of a almost 8 yr. old girl ?) and is helluva lot of fun .
She actually does a dang good job of shaving me .

Dupes , I had to go for the gusto this time . Cant stay stuck in the past . I bought this one about 2 yrs ago . Its about time to build it before the plastic crumbles .

Dan , i was hopping this modern build would go faster but its a tad more parts than i expected .

This is the parts for the exhaust .


Assembled


On the Merk the panels 3 and 4 (the panels under the exhaust)do not have the spring arms like the rest of the panels .


I modified the kit parts by removing the arms from the parts for those panels . There also is no bottom plate for the louvered exhaust area and I scratched that .



Now , like me , you are up to date .

Jeff , the kit just left a big ole hole down at the bottom in there . Its difficult seeing what is really at the bottom of the exhaust outlet in the pics I found but I figure what with this tank belching black diesel exhaust it'll all be smudged up and sooty looking anyway .

Nems , good huh ? Poor woman, she must be assuming that when your out in your cave your behaving yourself . Wrong ! Just thinking , when ever Deb wants you to come in from that shed all she has to do is unplug the extension cord , right ?

Chris , I used to think that pe stuff was a good thing but after wrestling with a couple of sets of it I'm all but fed up with it for the most part . Its god for really small /fine details but the stuff not bonding worth a poop is what makes me pull out my hair . And look at my hair line know !

Thanks Bill . I've put some of my kits to the real aging test . They gotta rot away sometime don't they ? Bill where did you see my teeth ? I left in a post around here someplace and cant round em up . Getting close to their feedin time you know .
