Bookmarked!!! It would be very helpful if Gary can tell us the exact color for his kiltutu... there were so many shades of pink at my LHS I was so overwhelmed! Those balls and chains look GREAT. Remember real men don't read instructions so you are normal...

Leon , Wouts and Lui I muchly appreciate you guys taking a look and your comments are most welcome . Wouts , how'd you like the MM color ? I'm not quite sure if it should be a little browner . My burnt umber wash should correct the look IMO . Well, I like it I must say, but a wash wouldn't hurt. I've learned that no two Merks look thesame in shade...dust and other contaminants easily make them look different. I know there are some serious debates about the colors used by the IDF but there are way too many different looks of those. So, I think it looks sweet. Great updates btw, can't wait for the weathering stages! Cheers

Andy , only Gary's tutu dry cleaner knows the correct shade of pink . It'll be great having you here . Phil , I agree and I aint sayin it for fear of being kicked in the tutu curtain ! Wouts , its like anything else in photography when it comes to color it depends on the lighting , right ? I changed my light balance and for me that did the trick of getting the pics to look more like the model paint shade . Thanks guys , appreciate your comments Have a good day !

Painted the tarp with Model Master helo drab green and then dry brushed it with Israeli sand . I swear these plastic tracks shrink after they are fitted around the running gear and then put aside till final assembly .Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr ! Spent a fair amount of time fixing this one . The links broke while attaching them around running gear . The track run got super tight for some reason . I remembered what Nems (Musty) said about not seeing the top one so it was out with the nippers and I cut the dang thing and that gave me the slack I needed .Ha ! Who's the boss here ?

1 Answer for the tracks Fruils i used to use magic tracks they were the same then when using white spirits and pigments the glue would melt and they would break i save the magic tracks and when i get a few pairs i sell them which pays for some fruils fantastic work on the tarp and the washes on the wheels look ferkin real keep up the hard work Dan B

Ahh yes Dan I completely agree that the Fuils are are the best and the answer to this type of problem . I've spent the bucks on them before but I thought these kit tracks would be ok ......wrong ! Thanks for looking and for the kind comment mate !

Somebody said spray couple of future or flat clear to protect the plastic tracks if possible. I haven't tried that method but I do remember how it falls apart after weathering.

Thanks Andy . From now on I'm not going to use artist oils to weather plastic tracks . I'll try acrylics instead .

Too bad about the tracks Carl, but the tarp is very sweet Buddy. The tape painted up real nice.

Thanks guys ! Jeff , one thing you brought up earlier about the foil tape is that the paint is easily scrapped off of it . Nems ,Yep , I'm with you mate , why bother when its never to be seen again . Bill , dang right , aint takin no guff off them tracks ! (please don't brake again ) Tonight's update . Tracks are repaired and dusted with Migs gulf war sand (no Israel sand available in my basement cave currently. ). The tracks will get a further touch up with pigments but right now I'm leaving them as is . I mixed the pigments with water this time instead of the suggested enamel fixer .The skirts and hull side received a wash from a mix of raw sienna and burnt umber ( trying to tone done the wash color) . So far only one small part popped loose off of one of the skirts .

You really do have the magic... your builds have unique look and anybody will know its your stunning work. No worries about using Gulf War sand... let's say Israel is finally invading Iran.
