Well, Joe, I hope you get some inspiration for your cut-away from our three-way. I wish I felt that adventurous...

Here be my contribution to this here triple..... Done as this bird..... And as I said when I signed up,I had done some of the noisy bit up front.... So last nite I did a few other bits and bobs...you may notice,I may not do things in the right order... Don't panic,Fuse is only taped,to show the start of the tail feathers....I've also thrown the main undiecrackers together, and one of the wing fold mechanisms.May have to display this shut up,cos of the lack of space

Funny thing is....the 'Colonials' sold us a Navy plane they decided they couldn't land on carriers....so the FAA devised a way,and then told 'em how to do it!!!! (No offence meant, and this is not the official view of this Forum!!!! )

I also like your choice of markings... a Corsair from the VMF-323 "Death Rattlers". I didn't know that came in that kit but now that I know I must get it some day. Matter of fact wish I had known about this group build because it's one of my fav's! Instead of doing a cutaway, make the cowling removable! Show off those engines guys. Jeff

Marc dude you are all over the map. The mill looks sweet. this should be fun. And a CB start up too. come on Boyd... you may need to adjust your schedule.

come on Boyd... you may need to adjust your schedule. Totally agree! Yeah, this year's build summary is going to be pretty diverse scale and subject-wise.

Instead of doing a cutaway, make the cowling removable! Show off those engines guys. These kits DO all come with clear cowls...but that engine's fit isn't good enough to display without some serious work IMHO.

I gotta agree with Marc,here.....If Moose joins us,his Tammy kit comes with the clear cowl(It does over here, anyway),maybe he'll do his with the donk showing, cos I certainly won't be.I want to show off those nice decs (Plus I'm a lazy beggar...less painting, the better )

When Boyd and I set out to do this one, it was going to be Trumpeter F4U-1Ds...stretching it to add a Trumpy -4 (essentially the same base kit) is fine, but adding the Tamiya kit is getting too far off the original goal.

Cee Bee - no need to bail if you're still interested. If Moose has a Trumpy kit I'd love for him to get in as well...I think we lose the ability to help each other with tough parts of the build (and apparently there are some!) and seeing the different ways people interpret the same kit by opening it up to the Tamiya "super kit".

No no Cee... I'm messing with you guys lol. I didn't mean to join the build really, I just meant I've been aching to do this Corsair but had the Stang going. Just watching you fellas go at it was making me wanna break into mine ;D Nah y'all have at it... I may build the other P51 I have next anyway. Sneak peek it's a dedicated build to Major George Preddy

Back-to-back Tamiya P-51s? How many more of them to you have hiding in the stable??

dupes, that Tamiya P-51 is a gem. It's the only kit I've built where I said I could immediately build a second and not be bored. I'd love to hop in on this, but it's going to be a few weeks until I go on a tax refund splurge so I'll just have to watch.

Oh, I don't doubt that P-51 kit is spectacular (seen one in the box), but they certainly aren't "inexpensive"! Need to take out a bank loan if you want to serial-build those things...
