oo er, fnar, fnar, love the dirt! what is your mix? looking good! It's a mix of leftover Tamiya paints, dirt from the garden, static grass from Noch, white glue, Water, Alcohol, and then a small sprinkling of tea leaves- Red Brand from Morrisons. And it stinks, like a beer sh.. on the day after Paul

Yes luigi you heard the word paint , well here we go then: Primer - Revell 09 Anthracite Tamiya XF 62 Olive drab Now I have a question, I'm going to use the hairspray method on this one and need to know what to do next. I have done the hairspray before but I used acrylic paint over enamel, this time my base coat is acrylic. Do I need to put a protective coat of gloss (enamel or acrylic) on here before the hairspray goes on ? Paul

I suggest you do Paul, hairspray can loossen the acrylic quite fast! a good coat of gloss or mat. I used matt and it gave some kind of good result...Got to try gloss.

Hi there. I just found this and I want to drop in to say that this is a perfectly nice work - and the turret is perfectly wrong. First of all: the 2nd batch was not a "second run prototype". There have been several prototypes, a pre-production batch of 50 tanks and 6 production batches. You are going to build second batch hull with a early 5th batch turret, equipped with searchlight box of a 1st / 2nd batch and early grab bars on the side. You better should have used the turret of the basic kit. The turrets of the 5th batch were first casted but with a thicker armour then the 1st - 4th batches, the tanks were designated as A2. The last 110 turrets in the 5th batch were welded, the tanks were designated as A3. You can see the difference between the turrets of batch 1 - 4 from the 5th batch at the shape of the rangefinders ends. In batch 1 - 4 this ends are round while the ends of the A2 - Turrets were oval shaped.
Sorry mate, I'm in Leopard 1 since I received my basic training as a maintenance mechanic on a A3 back in 1981
