As to the bigger question, yes I am gonna be working on the Ferdinand. Save to say when I realized my math stunk, I lost a little momentum.

You've been busy on this one PJ! Making good progress despite the failings of your preferred NFL teams.

So this is the last Berge update for awhile....gotta finish the Ferdinand.
So this is the final drive/transmission unit. Now before all the "panther-o-holics" out there in model land say, it isn't correct, it's not supposed to be. As the great Shep Paine said, more than once or twice..."it just has to look the part". When the project is complete you will only be able to see maybe 30-40 percent of the unit. Also the plank system, isn't really a bench, it's the base for the 2.cm gun crew to stand on when firing.

Just think "ever so humble beginnings" ..............
Here is the very start of the Demag produced winch. Please note that 90 percent of the kit supplied winches are incorrect. Luckily, I found pictures and drawings of the ACTUAL winch.... So here i go...

So here is the winch in sub assembly. You can make out the rough dimensions....
it really is amazing what you can dig out of the spare parts bins

I converted this kit in the late 70s to a bergepanther, but chickened out on the interior. Watching this build I feel like ripping the old girl apart and starting again. This is seriously good mate!!!!!!
