Hello all, thank you for looking in and encouraging me. I am glad that the base is passing muster, it is always for me, difficult to get the balance right and not let the base overpower the figure, in this case figures. Steve as I said above it was your work on the Hue Citadel/gate diorama from some time ago and the Gun Truck dio that set me thinking; plus the fact that I had better thin out my Bravo 6 section of the grey army, and finger glueing I have been, I must buy some de-bonder. Frank, the solitary VC is being placed to the right of the wall as you look at the dio, so he is on the far side from the Marines. I am going to position him so his feet are to the front of the base to show of the lovely tyre tread on the sole of his sandals. As for a title, my wife has suggested “Street Fighting Men” as a play on the Rolling Stones record “Street Fighting Man” so guess what I am calling it? Yes you are right. But thank you for the great suggestion mate. Here are a couple of bad shots (pardon the pun) of the said dead Viet Cong, Vladimir Demchenko has produced a wonderful model. Thanks for dropping by I will post again soon. Cheers Dennis

Deaf, isn´t the VC from the BRAVO 6 collection, too? I don´t know exactly, but I guess this little guy is from them...
And Dennis, your wife hit the nail on the head with the title! And hey, the new figure is top, as ever. Do you place an AK-47 near him? Or a RPG-7??

Hi guys Thanks again for popping in and leaving your kind comments. Andy as Frank and Luigi says the Vietcong guy is indeed from the Bravo 6 range, sculpted by Vladimir Demchenko. When you go to purchase this one it is code B6-35017 and is titled VietKong "Ace Of Spades" in the box you get 2 x dead Vietcong with 1x SKS rifle and 1 x AK47. Frank because of this guys ammo pouches I am going to paint up the SKS to go with him. The Bravo 6 range on the Americans in Vietnam is very well done, at Euro next weekend I am going to try and buy a boxed set entitled "Me so Horny" showing a Boom Boom girl trying to entice a GI to part with his dough. Again thanks for popping in will post more pics soon. dennis

Hi Lads Thanks Vlp and Frank. I have completed, (apart from a bit of tweeking) another Marine from the Bravo 6 range. This one is B6-35028 /USMC (2) “Cover Me!” TET’68. A Straight OOB build apart from adding the helmets chin strap to the helmet. I still have to add a forward sling swivel on the M16. This guy is depicted reloading his M16 and as he is in a kneeling position he will be in the corner behind the wall, he is in the act of tapping his magazine on his helmet to remove any dirt/dust on the topmost rounds of his magazine, this will prevent stoppages and may save his life. he is also carrying on his belt the M16 Bipod pouch, the kit comes with the bipod and I will paint this up and place on the ground near him, along with an empty magazine. Thanks for popping in for a look I will post again soon. Cheers Dennis

Thanks everyone, I am pleased that the Cover Me guy passed muster. I have moved onto working to complete a pair of figures B6-35033 U.S.M.C. (6) Officer & RTO, Tet'68. The first to be finished is the RTO or radio operator. He is an OOB build apart from fitting a radio antenna and a coiled lead for handset for the PRC-25 radio he carries. This guy is posed kneeling with one fist on the ground and is supported by a combat shotgun he holding/leaning on in his other hand. The officer is posed standing talking into the handset. The photos I am posting with this guy doesn’t have the shotgun or the coiled handset lead as I have not completed them yet. The antenna is made from 0.2mm wire for the gooseneck and post it notepaper for the actual antenna Thanks for popping in for a look I will post again soon. Cheers Dennis

You have such a clean and ultrarealistic painting style that I would like to read a little bit more about it, p. ex. if you paint in layerings, how you shade and light etc. This here rocks!

Beauty Dennis, we can see the muscle tones on the GI's arms, and the VC figure is spot on. Great color tones, dialed in. These are lookin really good. Ruck On!

Thanks everyone, as you know I have moved onto working to complete a pair of figures B6-35033 U.S.M.C. (6) Officer & RTO, Tet'68. The first to be finished is the RTO or radio operator, which I have shown above. Thanks everyone for the great comments, Frank I will describe how I paint shortly, it does involve washes, layers etc. Leon, the soles of the boots are so well cast that all I had to do was pick out the details with paint. Luigi, this guys has a combat shotgun, I replaced the barrel with a pin because of warp-age, and that is in the process of being painted Thanks Steve, the painting of the models has been a pleasure as they are so well sculpted, with great poses, also research for these guys has been a lot of fun, I am building up quiet a Vietnam War file believe me. Carl thanks mate I appreciate that. I am not going to post for a few days as I am going down south to Euro Militaire, but I have taken a picture of the USMC Officer to go with the RTO. I have shown this guy in his unmade state so you can see the parts you get to make up one figure. I am sorry I forgot to mention that the packboard that the RTO’s radio is on is a two piece photo-etched part. Thanks for popping in for a look I will post again soon. Cheers Dennis

Hello all, thank you everyone for the kind comments. I am home from Euro and back at work but if I want modeling tokens for the next Euro I had better earn them I suppose. As usual after Euro I try and reorganise/tidy up my man cave, well now that is done and it is back to the modeling routine. Steve mate you should try and grab some of these little beauties as they are wonderfully done. I am posting a couple of shots of the Lt. that goes with the RTO posted above. You can see how much filling was done on him by the green colour. I use Citadel Liquid Green Stuff from Games Workshop for my fine filling as on this Officer. The Green Stuff is applied with a paint brush to where it is needed and then feathered out with water, hence a larger area of green than is actually needed. This guy still needs his helmet and his Grease Gun plus the coiled wire for the telephone handset. Thanks for popping by I will post again soon when I have some paint applied. Cheers Dennis
