Hi Gents, as I promised in the last post here are some pictures of the latest progress of my Hue diorama. I have positioned 2 more Marines, this completes the group that is nearest the enemy in the dubious cover of the small wall. Again I have applied pastel chalk to parts of their equipment and uniforms paying attention to their boots to try and get that worn look Agentg talked about in his post I hope I have achieved something of that worn look. I have also spent hours producing spent M16/M14 empty cases out of cut brass wire and secured individually using Vallejo Matt Varnish. My next move will be to position the Lt and his RTO, but before that a couple of weapons have to be finished off and a connecting cable from PRC to the handset completed. Thanks for taking a look and for your support Dennis

Ooooooooo, beauty, well dusted legs, shells on the ground, mud in the pant legs, awesome. Lots happenin since my last visit.
One thing I see Dennis, if I may mention, the Marine shooting over the wall looks like he needs some kind of cover. Just an observation, but can you add anything to give him a bit more cover? Maybe a bushy palm or something that won't interfere with the dead VC on the other side?
Cheers, Ski.

Really lovely, the whole composition of the fighting men, their paint job of cause and the surround. Paying attention to the small details like shells and dirt pays off and here all fits together in very good harmony. What to say more? Brilliant work!

Hi Lads, Steve, Lucas and Frank thanks again for all your kind comments. Steve I have taken on board what you have said about the Marine 'shooting over the wall'. I have taken another shot from the perspective of the enemy this shows how the Marines are using the cover, I will add a bush or a garage/workshop/shop sign to the top of the wall. There is a Dutch firm that produce some Vietnam War signs I could probably use. My research on this diorama involved looking at a lot of videos and photos which showed Marines in really precarious firing positions engaging the enemy and winning the firefight. But this area will be revisited. I am glad you like the use of the brass wire to represent the empty cases, I do not know how I am going to represent the disintegrating link used on the M60 any ideas anyone? I will post again soon. I hope all our American members are OK and have got back to something like normality after that huge snowfall. Dennis

Hi Guys here is a snap of a Honda C100 Mod.1958, which is produced by Diopark as Japanese Civilian Motorcycles C100 Mod. 1958, code number DP35007 in 1/35th scale. You get enough parts to make 2 versions a single seater and a double seater, these use a lot of etched brass and go together well. In fact it’s the first plastic kit I have made in about 30 years, I was going to include in the Hue Diorama but have changed my mind. When I complete the Hue Diorama I will finish of this Honda and I will team this lovely little bike up with the Bravo 6 "Me so Horny" set sometime in the future. Thank you Dennis

Hello Gents, thanks for the kind words on the scooter/moped, it was supposed to be part of the “Street Fighting Men” dio but I have decided not to place it on the dio at the moment, however I may change my mind. I am sorry for not posting more pics but my bench time has been limited, due to work etc. I have finally finished off the Bravo 6 USMC Lt. I have fitted his M3 Grease Gun SMG to. I did this by drilling a hole in the body, I inserted a pin with the point sticking outwards and then drilled a hole in the M3 so as the two would marry up. The pin tip was painted black and when dry the M3 was glued to the pin and the sling then fitted. During this fiddly stage the M3’s barrel was bent but when the operation was finished I used a heat gun to waft heat carefully onto the model and bingo it became straight. I have given this gent a gentle coating of Pastel Chalk to represent the Vietnamese dust/dirt and I will position him with his Radio man shortly. Thanks for popping in for a look more will follow soon. Dennis

Hello lads, Leon, Nicusi & Andy thanks for your kind comments lads. I have used my Sunday in the man cave for some useful stuff; I have the Corpsman and his casualty in position and the Lt with his Radio Man. Fitting the handset wire for the Lt's radio handset was an object lesson in annoyance, I annealed the wire and wound it around a pin to give it the coiled effect but it remained springy and boy was it b----y springy. But eventually I got there and it is in position. I have only to place the M60 team now; I am not looking forward to the linked ammo belts, but watch this space. Thanks for popping in and your kind support. Dennis
