You know, you should probably add some aftermarket to this build... What's the deal with the Riich tracks? Lots of cleanup/poor fit?

I've been accumulating PzIII/StuG AM for a while. Some of it is left overs from prior projects. Dupes - Instead of me reliving the gory details, this review covers it. www.armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Reviews&file=index&req=showcontent&id=9486I don't mind the work for indy links if the results are worth the time. Tracks toeing out, popping apart with handling, and needing to be glued in place are not the results I'm after. They will make suitable spare links. Wish I had seen this review before purchase. John - Thanks Mr. T. All I used was my phone camera with a little PS sharpening and levels. Elco - Not entirely. ModelKasten has some nice drive sprockets with separate hubb caps. Still need to get stowage too. I'll max out at some point.

Ah, a Stug. There are more German SPG´s and other afv´s you know? My thoughts as well. But as always another sweet build. Marcel.

Looks pretty sharp from here so far Bryan! Tough break on the tracks, especially since you don't need them to be full runs for this wreck. Up to your usual standards though in the AM department!

Bill - This won't be a wreck. That run represents almost 3 hours worth of work. I will make a wreck at one point in the future,
Leon - Thanks. PE is getting easier each time I use it.

On the sprue, mold lines, AND they don't fit well? Sounds like something I'd rather avoid. Bummer.

I thought because of the burnt out road wheels it would be a wreck. Either way, it's headed in the right direction.

Yeah me too Deano. Me too but it happens. I've been reading about some of Trumpeter's E series tracks and their problems.
No prob Bill. It's just what they are called, not what they represent. ;-)

Started on the stowage. Some of which was mined from an earlier build. I also finished up the tool clamps and gave the base a nice coat of primer. The tarp over the mantle isn't fixed in place yet, hence the gap. Still need a few little touch ups here and there. Question: What color would the visible periscope block frames be painted? Black or Dark Yellow?

Looking good Bryan! As for your question on the periscopes, the frames/housings of the cupola would've been dark yellow while the periscopes themselves were made out of bakelite, so they would've had the dark red/brown color commonly associated with that material. HTH!

Looking good BK. Great stowage set up you've made there. Nice damaged road wheels remembers that I forgot that "feature" on my JP. =O

Thanks Bill. Painted them a very dark gray twice before but had a feeling that wasn't correct.
Thanks Marcel. Hope the new Tamiya JP kit looks good.

Hi MK, nice work, as usual...been refiring an 'old' StuG build and this one sure serves as motivation. Nice work on the tarps btw, something which I always find hard to look 'right'. Keep it up
Cheers

Great job on the stowage MaK, the added tarps look fantastic. Are they made from pure green stuff?

I'll look forward to seeing this one at a basement meet.
The zimmerit, is that AM or part of Dragon's casting? It looks sharp.
