Some awesome stuff going on here guys!
Does anyone know where I can get some 38(t) accurate roadwheels from... can be resin and can have that battle damage too? Wouldn't mind the sprockets and idler wheels as well. The Italeri wheels in the kit are too big and lack detail on the backside.
Also, any suggestion on tracks that are better than Friuls let me know. Cleaning those tiny things might be a hazard. LOL
Keep up the great work guys... I check every day!
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
As for the tracks, I have to think the top 3 best choices would be Fruils, MK's or Magic Tracks. Tiny on all front! The Fruils and MK's are going to run about the same price...With the Fruils, there is one set, I think, that comes with sprockets which will help a lot with the alignment. Other than than, track down and old DML kit...opened, damaged box type of thing and salvage the tracks if you get it for a steel! Only thing I can offer to you is some links from an old DML Imperial Grille...individual links on the sprue. Snipping and some cleaning, but if you want them, give me a shout!!
As for the wheels....Panzer Art sell some burnt out wheels, also a 2 wheel spare wheel set. I would think, again, look for a beat up or started kit and maybe get both the tracks and a set of wheels...The kit Boyd and I are using are detailed on the inside and out so they will work! The Grille kit I have has two sets with it but one is hollow on the back and the other is ....just OK.
I dropped Steve Reid a note a few minutes ago to check to see if the Celticwerks shop has some of these either cast or in mold form. Several of the guys from the local club build tons of these things....worth a loot. Will let you know if I come up with anything!!

Paint's looking good, T. I hate to say it, but that last shot of the tank on the base looks better than some show entries I've seen.

Jeezy Pete, I get sidelined with a "bit of a cold" (translation - unconscious for 48 hours) and you guys go nuts!
Still plugging away, hope to have some paint on mine sooner rather than later. Need to decide which route I want to go paint-wise...AK Mod Set?

Thanks Bob! Well, I suppose that is a really good thing then!! Maybe I can retrieve something halfway decent from this venture!! Marc, I assume sleeping off some sort of illness? While I could see Mia knocking you out at some point, it's highly unlikely!! I am sure you will track down a finish for yours!

You got it, T. Seems like these days I'm either not sick at all, or so sick that my body shuts down completely for a day or two. Something to do with lack of sleep, I'm sure. Just need more hours in a day!

We all need a little more time in the day for sure!! As for the lack of sleep...sure you would be just as productive if not more if you got some!! At least maybe not having the 2 days down on the other end!! Well the work week is back....put things back into auto pilot!!!

Todd that look pretty darn nice. I too have been sidelined. But mine was a 3 day bender with all the relatives at my nieces wedding. A great time but the after effects are getting harder and longer.

Boy, I wish I could be 'sick' for a week... even a weekend! But I would miss too much 'round here and never be able catch up! Jeff

Do I smell paint or is that last night burritos? Getting hard to distinguish VOC's It's paint! real nice so far Todd. The wood boxes are great and I like the bent cover in the metal box. Hands were finally steady after the weekends self imposed tremors. More cutting away at the turret. I remembered when Bill did his cut away I remembered he cut the middles out of the engine hatches. Couldn't figure out why. Why not just open the hatches? I FINALLY realized the turret has to be turned 90 degrees to do that. Decisions, decisions. Missing vision blocked be damned... I am not quiting. 1 is taken care of with the cut away at the turret but the others... well... I won;t tell anyone if you won't. Nothing glued yet so don't mind all the gap in the armor.

Nice choice and selection of cut-outs to resolve your vision block dilemma there Marc! And yes, you've figured out the trick with the engine hatches too. Making good progress as well T, love the look on those stowage boxes.
