WOW! That's a whole lot of aftermarket, Dupes!! It is indeed. I don't recall what possessed me to gather all that up for this kit. Probably just to say "yeah, that's the Maquette kit". Hahahahhahaha

Because you've got the Tristar kit that doesn't NEED any aftermarket!
Tristar kit on sale = $15. Maquette kit = $5. Aftermarket to make the Maquette kit look like the Tristar kit? $60.

Excellent! I'm assuming that you and Boyd are both doing the same kit - I think DML only did the G variant? If anyone else wants in, we have a few more characters worth of space in the subject line...

To keep things all official I slapped myself with my gauntlet. Just wish I had remembered to take it off first I recall one of the advantages of doing "buttoned up" armor. No ejector marks to fill. I started in on the interior. This kit is (was?) marketed without the interior as well I think. This would explain the 2nd set of instructions, as if I don't have enough crap on the bench already, for the interior. Marc , I see what you mean about not needing AM stuff, at least for the inside. The drivers steering arms are a nice little collection of about 15 PE parts. But everything is going together smoothly, unlike other recent kits that got chucked that I won't mention... but I know a lot of aftermarket when I see it...haha... *Gets popcorn* Mmmmmm...popcorn. Now that I see what I'm up against, I may have to scrounge up some more aftermarket bits. Maybe I can cover every square inch of Maquette plastic with some sort of etch or resin? Hahahaha

Marc , I see what you mean about not needing AM stuff, at least for the inside. . Great start on the interior! Surveyed the Eduard PE set I have last night - at least half of it is for the interior. Trying now to figure out how many of the hatches are able to be positioned open to make it worth the work doing the extra detailing.

Trying now to figure out how many of the hatches are able to be positioned open to make it worth the work doing the extra detailing. Marc As you may recall, I did a Tristar 38(t) about four or five years ago (back when Armorcon was AMPSEast). I also did the Marder (H). The one thing that is clear from both of those kits is just how much of the interior will be completely hidden, regardless of what hatches you open and... ahhh.... AHHHH... AHHHHHHH--CUTAWAY... sorry about that. Didn't mean to sneeze all over you. Allergies or something... So where was I? What was I saying? Oh, right... Ummm, really hard to see inside those little buggers.

Ahhhh yes, I had forgotten about the 38(t) you did (although I do remember the Marder). Got a pic of it somewhere?
Cutaway, eh? Let me see what this thing gives me first and I'll get back to you on that.

Excellent! I'm assuming that you and Boyd are both doing the same kit - I think DML only did the G variant? Marc It seems as if you have become de facto organizer of this little build off, I've got a question. I do have the Tristar E/F kit. If you'd like to avoid doubling up of kits, I could do that one instead. Granted, it is, for all intents and purposes the same kit as Wing_nut's so maybe it doesn't really matter?

Since I know on good authority that TRM's build will look VERY different than yours (think "wreck") it shouldn't be an issue. That, and we've already got a badge!
