Outstanding dupes!! She is a looker!! Waiting on those barrels myself right now!! Should be here in a couple days! Been out straight with "site related stuff" and sneaking in some time here and there on soldering fenders and whatnot. I will try and snap some pics soon...promise!! LOL!

Soldering fenders? Ooooh...fancy! I haven't given that a try yet. Sure seems like it would make a lot more sense for bigger parts like that. Side note - yes, my tracks are on backwards. Don't worry, they aren't permanently mounted.

Found a nice walkaround of a G that has nice interior shots for those that need that. Oh yeah... THAT"S ME! Dunno how different a "B" was but I am sure I can claim artists license and use something from there.

Dunno how different a "B" was but I am sure I can claim artists license and use something from there. Only interior differences would be the driver's plate (straight vs. bent), otherwise the layout inside was virtually unchanged for all the variants. Outside things changed in terms of turret armor thickness, tool arrangements, etc. but overall the 38(t) remained remarkably consistent in its core design throughout its production runs. The Ausf variants were largely used to track the order batches more than anything else!

Paint?? PAINT??? I got no stinkin' paint.... You didn't paint the hull? Then you must have a VERY different lighting setup between your bench and photobooth judging by these two pics...color match your bulbs, BOYD! Ummm, those are the same lights, same bulbs. No photobooth. Both pics are taken on the top of my bench. In one, I'm just holding the model upright, in the other it is set on the bench. Not sure why they came out so different? The green vs. blue background perhaps? Or maybe one was taken at night and the other during the day with some sunlight coming in? Hmmmm....

Nice pics T, guess I got to moves those wires. ? Are you worried about 38(t) mechanics judging your build? "It's some nice work, but those distributor cap wires are slightly off."

Not worried about the cap being wrong but I better make damn sure the firing order is correct.

A tiny update. No pun intended. Drilled out the distributor with a #87 bit, .0098" . Added some fly tying wires but had to guess where the "plugs" would have been. Couldn't find a pic of the engine online. GOOD GAWD!!! Now distributor wires??? I quit!! LOL Jeff

With some decent ref pics and a bit of artistic license i am finally gonna say the interior is done. The kits came with 2 radios but unless I just total missed it it doesn't say where to put them. A couple of the walkaround shots had them in this setup so I figured what the heck.

I have decided to throw my hat into the ring and build my 1/16 Panda Hobby 38(t) kit... as is. BUT, I will install RC components along the way AND take measurements to build a Marder III for the next kit I get. This kit has a nice sheet of PE AND an aluminum barrel too! So I am making no promises as to finishing it in the allotted time here but to use this as encouragement to build it. I have been doing a lot of searching and reading up on the little beast and the further I went along, the more I grew to admire the little tank. And I do like the little tanks that so much is that I think I will attempt to build a 1/16 Japanese tank... of some sort but most likely a Ha-Go or the Ka-Mi. So here's a pic of the boxart and the unstarted kit: Jeff

Nice project Jeff, should be fun. I know! I should be certifiable, huh? My wife likes that I am engaging into cutting, filing and cementing again, especially since I have enough to make a big fortune on! I have yet to decide on building an E or F version. Looking through the manual there's not much between the 2, the rear hull plate and the engine covers is all there is. And then the decals! Whoa... what a selection too. They all appear to be German so did the Czechs ever use these in combat? I wouldn't mind a Allied tank but if it must be German... so be it. I also discovered I can use the Tamiya TI rubber tires from the RC kit on this build instead of the styrene tires. A little loose but I have the adhesive for it. Should be fun! I also read where TAKOM is releasing another FT... this time the Char Canon/Berliet Turret kit in 1/16 as the first release was a Char Canon/Girod Turret and then second the same turreted tank but a machine gun in the turret instead of the cannon. I even received this today a KIRIN resin kit in 1/16 of MICHAEL WITTMANN just for this build. So I guess it's gonna be a German tank now. Jeff
