LOL! I am just happy that I am not doing Black Hawk or Huey... can you imagine how many belts we have to build. Thank God it only needed two... took me two nights to work on them.
Glad you liked them too... thanks buddy!

Thanks wizardo!!! I couldn't leave them naked without seat belts or it will not look right. Worth every penny and time... the set was $10 plus $3 shipping just for two seats. LOL

Looks awesome Andy! I have the Upgrade set from Black Ops for the AH-6M which was released recently and it is delicious! I have been hunting for a Little Bird kit but they are rare as rocking horse poo, and when they do show up occasionally on evilbay they are hideously expensive! I have Dragon's Israeli MD-500 so I may just use that as the base kit and go from there. It only has 5 blades though, which is a pain, so I will probably have to recast one in resin to make up the six. There are also some differences in the cockpit which I will just have to scratch build. It is a bit of a pain, but it is really my only option as I can't justify forking out A$100+ (when you factor in postage as well) for a helo kit, when it is so small!! Sorry to hijack the thread mate, look forward to seeing your next installment! Cheers, Sam

LOLOLOLOL Now you have made me hungry for more sets from Black Ops. They sure make great stuff. Only ran into one minor issue with the tail rotors but I was able to fix it. I was so lucky... like you I looked for Little Bird kit for nearly a year but they are very hard to get guys would not give up easily so often they go for $75-$100. A local modeler was having a huge garage sale and he had that kit!!! Bought it for $50 he even allowed me to get it before the garage sale... if I see another one I would grab it again. Too bad I don't understand how dumb Dragon folks are for not making more since they are still popular. That's one of reasons why I stopped buying Dragon new kits as I found myself buying more Trumpy and Tamiya kits lately... Hijack? NO, believe me it is always good hearing from you my friend! I have MD-500 and one more I can not remember right now. I'd love to get Vietnam era OH-6 one day but they are very hard to find too... Again it is good hearing from you Sam!

Crazy about manufacturers decision not to continue many great kits... seems to me that they are not fan of helicopters? Not enough in profits?
Cobra in 1/35 would be awesome... it is on my wish list too. I had Black Hawk in 1/35 but later realized it is way too big so I traded it in for a 1/16 Alpine figure.
I will see if I can add couple of tracks to my Little Bird for you... LOL Thanks for stopping by Rod!

Quick update... things have been crazy busy at work and home. But managed to make small progresses on the Little Bird. Main rotor was pretty tricky this time. Since MH-6 uses SIX blades while AH-6 uses FIVE blades so the resin set come correct parts and it required me to make some extra work such as cutting & gluing the connecting rods. Still am in process of painting the interior... I have to say the resin dashboard from Black Ops is FANTASTIC! Drops of clear Future will be done to the dashboard next. Will apply minimal chippings around the floor and pedals before I can glue the fuselage halves together. And I am not looking forward to that part! Dragon did not do a good job molding the Little Bird so there will be no help hold the halves together... Our Christmas tree is up now. No need to tell me the picture is up downside because the tree really is! LOL Thanks for looking...

Nice progress on the rotor and dash Andy. As for the tree, I keep telling my wife we just need to get the Charlie Brown-tree as it's the only thing that can survive in our numerous-pet household.

Glad you're happy to listen to my ramblings Andy!! The pit looks great so far mate, cracking job my friend! I managed to pick up an AFV 1/35 AH-1W Cobra a while back so I am pretty stoked about that. I actually bought it for the engine in the kit originally (for my Apache build) but planned on building the whole kit at some point. I will be waiting a while for that one though, as Black Ops had planned to do a conversion kit to change it into an AH-1Z! Yeeee-haaaar!! Something else to spend money on..... Cheers, Sam

Rod- LOL! Looks like you are not alone... every male in the whole world undergo this kind of Christmas ritual of course except for Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation. Thanks buddy! Mr T- Done with yours yet?!?!? Bill- Are you talking about this tree? We have it right on our dining table. My wife is huge fan of Snoopy and Charlie Brown stuff. OLOLOL Thanks for stopping by professor! Sam- LOLOLOLOL Oh man, I think my next helicopter has to be a Cobra!!! Damn it... I don't have it in the stash!!! Gonna keep eyes for it at upcoming shows. So AFV makes the best kits for Cobra in 1/35? Trust me you will enjoy the sets from Special Ops... be sure to visit their website as pictures are easier to look at than the instructions. I will be posting a big update right after this... Bob- Thanks my brother!!!

Big update coming up... it was a great weekend despite the fight I had to put up with the Little Bird. Like my previous Little Bird build there were fitting issues but this time it seems to be worse. However I managed to show it who's the boss!!! LOL Major fitting issue... see for yourself! Took me nearly 2-3 hours to fix it... one side at a time. I forgot to mention that Special Ops has a great website you can look at better pictures or actual pictures etc. It really helps a lot to have an iPad at the bench... Had to drill and insert metal rods to many resin parts or they will just snap off later on... #79 drill bit. LOL Almost there... Not much left to do... few parts to attach then it will be ready to be primed and painted next. Thanks for looking my friends!

Jimmy- LOL! Exactly... I think you will like my wife too as she has great sense of humor too. We wouldn't have gotten that tree if it was not for her. Unfortunately I don't have any model kits on my Xmas list right now... have too many and I am in process of selling some. But there's few modeling accessories and war books on the list. Professor- Thanks buddy! I wonder if its the reason why Dragon stopped selling those kits? Had to cut small portion of the frame off to make it work and it worked. Wizard- Thanks my friend... heading down to my man cave now to add last few pieces then it will be ready for next stage.

Accessories and books are great. Especially of you're at the point you're selling kits. Haha. I could probably do to clear out some stuff but I've got hoarder tedencies. My wife and I are jokesters and pranksters ourselves so we can certainly appreciate others who keep their inner child close at hand. Oh and apologies I was in a hurry to respond last time around I forgot to ass that the build is coming along nicely. I think my local Hobby Lobby stocks this kit and if so I'm grabbing it.

If it does Jimmy, and they are even MSRP (maybe $30), grab two and promptly sell at least one on Sleaze-bay when you get home!! 10 year old out of production kit in demand...2 there now...$51 & $110!
