LOL...bet it will be a lot warmer than it has been!! 40 is better than -9!! Ain't that the truth! Hit 48 here the other day...felt like 70. Snow FINALLY starting to melt. Of course, the forecast for tomorrow night is 6-8 inches, but I'm trying to ignore that. Would it be rubbing it in if I mentioned we got up to 82 on Wed?

I would say "yes", that counts as rubbing it in!

Nice work on the Chukker! Looks cool and I don't doubt the weight. I bet those launcher boxes could break a toe if dropped just right.

Remember the caveat about keeping myself healthy being the key to maintaining the production line? As soon as we got back from Valleycon, Junior got sick...followed by the wife getting sick...followed by me getting sick. More than two weeks gone like THAT, and now I've got show prep for Downeastcon this weekend. After that the spring shows are done, though, so I'm hoping to get reorganized and get cranking out again starting Monday!

So now we finally know what Dupes' kryptonite is! Kids! Seriously, my wife works as a music teacher at an elementary school and I jokingly tell her that it's really a germ factory in terms of biohazards. Both of us get the flu shot every year as soon as it's available as some measure of proactive protection but nothing is 100% foolproof when it comes to kids and the stuff they carry/transmit. Hope you can get the factory cranking again soon buddy.

Same with the daycare/school he goes to during the day...I can only imagine what he comes home with.

Hmmmmm...if I'm going to do that, I should probably just get a gas mask, no? Let me see if I can get some new filters for my old army-issue monster. Fun at the show? What? Never! This being our "local" show (i.e., only a three hour drive) I've got a club table to man - hoping to sell more than I buy again this year. Stash downsizing! Yaaaaay!

Sounds like that crap finally made it north. Ravaged our house a couple months ago and left me incapacitated a few days. I hope you're feeling better. Enjoy the show. Thankfully, my wife (a nurse) is now a desk jockey and not around sick people. But our son will be starting pre-school soon...so I expect it to get germy around here again.

Well look at that - couple more done! Finished these two up for the show this weekend. The Type 212 got built some time last summer, finally got around to painting it up. I'll proooobably do some more weathering on the Viper after the show, but she's close enough for at least the OOB Sci-Fi category. Kind of in a rush to get all of my entry forms together and everything packed, so only the glamour shots for now, anyway!

Thanks Leon! I'll have a full report on Monday I'm sure. Think I still have to do a Valleycon wrapup too, so I'll just do a big one.

Yeah, and I dig the Viper! Being not so the Galactica Fan, this thing looks cool and I love the greyish finish with the subtle weathering. Looks awesome!

Haha...two more excellent additions to the roster there. You're just all over the place in subject matter too. Keepin' it interesting at least. Looking forward to the show wrap up!

So here you go homies - the collective awards from my two spring shows up here in New England. I could break them down if anyone cares, but you guys have seen all of these builds either in the 2014 wrapup or this thread. Good collection of firsts, seconds, and thirds plus a show special award for the 1/72 Turkish Jug (which beat out several far larger entries)! My Sabre I finished recently won it's category at both contests...always nice to know it's not a judging fluke when you win. The just-in-time Viper triumphed in a heavily stacked OOB Sci-Fi section - love winning that one.
