Hey guys!! "Figured" I would pop up yet another thread! This time it's a sort of holding pen, of sorts, for a few things I am working at on and off. Yeah, you guessed it.....Figures!! I may finish some of these of quick as I go....other not so much. In either case I get a chance to play around with some stuff for a while and see what comes out of it!! So not to waste too much here I will get right to it! First out of the box is one of Kabuki Models figures; Snow White. I actually had the pleasure of reviewing this one recently in the Review Connect. Here is the link if you choose to check it out! - Review The figure itself is great! Very little cleanup and assembly was quick One of the best parts of any job, well to me anyway, it the primer stage!! There is a simplistic, clean look to a freshly primed model...not to mention it show anything that is unseen by the naked eye. The bunny and base received a nice coat of black to get the ball rolling! I thought with the figure I would try something a little different! The Game Air set from Vallejo has some interesting primers included with it, one of which is Pure Red. The next step was a no-brainer here...a little brown for the base...heck, there is a tree, right? I added a couple different browns here to get some contrast. The line of Vallejo Game Air is not unlike most sets of paint with the exception the names are "colorfully" geared to the gaming world as well as the vibrant coloring. So grabbing a couple colors off of the list I attacked the grass on the base...starting with the darkest color first then adding various highlights. In the middle of all this I grabbed the Khaki Color and lighten some rings on the stump. The coloring is very subtle. I will probably pick much more out as I go, but this was a good point to jump around. I need to come back and filling the flowers anyway!! The rabbit seems to be the easiest one out of the lot. I touched the little guy with a hint of brown followed right after with some Bonewhite! See, that was easy!! Time to have a look at the girl. I have tried several methods for applying skin tones and personally I like to start the first few coats with an airbrush. Just how I roll! Next up was a first light coat of Dwarf Skin. This was my though...the red base primer will accent the creases and edges to non skin areas. Elf Skintone was next up. To shorten this story up a bit, I hit some Pale Flesh mixed with a little Dead White and Ms. White was off to some detail painting. Some Imperial Blue for the bodice, Gold Yellow, Moon Yellow and Dead White for the skirt and the red trim a little back and forth with Gory Red and Blood Red. This is where she stands now... Try not to laugh too hard at my "mad skills" ( lol ) in the figure painting genre. All about having a little fun, right? I still have a bunch of highlights and touching up to do. I will be back later to pop a couple other figs I am working on as well!! Hope you had a little fun hanging out for a bit!!

She has me hot under the collar !! I really like your approach to this figure (using the airbrush) and achieving such smooth painting results!! Can't wait to see her on the base!! Cheers, Shay

First, I love the figure. The Girl is cute, sexy, has a nice pose and is a bit funny (seeing how she wants to bite in the apple has something, hehe, erotic of cause! The sculpting is excellent, all those small details, anatomy (and I love how the clothing is lying around the leg par example). Than we have the whole presentation, the little scene with lots of details and the rabbit. MAYBE I would add a small bird sitting on the tree. Thinking of how you will bring out the flowers on the base put a disneyesque grin on my face!
Now for the paintjob. You have combined classic Disney colouring of the character in this erotic figure and it looks fine, the colours are spot on, the detail painting till now cool and all looks fine. A great little kit in a great big paint up!

Dave - Thank you, never easy to see the tree through the forest I guess! Tobias - Thank you very much!! Elco - Thanks! Fortunately the figure and the paints are helping a lot on this one! I have to keep reminding myself "thin coats, thin coats built up dummy...just like armor...but different" ...LOL!! John, LOL!!! First, Bodice is a special word isn't it? Just the mere uttering of it can conjure up primordial thoughts! Second...I almost pissed myself as I read your post as you wrote, slowing at the end emphasizing the parts of the word and immediately look over to your picture...the look is is very poignant!! Shay - Thank you Sir! My first weapon of choice will always be the AB, hands down. I try to get things as far as I can without screwing things up with my brush work!! LOL! Frank - Thank you my friend! You kind of touched on what was clanking around in my head...eerily similar...LOL!! I wonder if the sculptor was thinking those same facets while he created it. Bridging the gab between the original and fantasy sides while not going too far over one edge. There is a very nice collection of subliminal messaging within the piece for sure! What I think makes this a fun piece. Open interpretations. The bird would be a nice touch...LOL! Don't tell me I need to figure out how to sculpt one now? Bob - LOL...almost wet myself there too!! Good thing I wasn't drinking my coffee at the time!! Thanks buddy!! As I might have mentioned, or at least insinuated, and interesting pile of figures pushed off to the side of the bench I am playing with. I think moving forward, this thread might help me keep things in perspective if not at least, show me things I need to focus on with attempt! This is the pile of figs for the Dreaded Tram project! I am sure that will get done at some point down the road...LOL!! But until then, I just pick away at the figs! Last night after a little Bang Bang Chicken my daughter brought home for me... Which started out like this... The two soldiers I think are close enough really...for now! I need to keep my expectations in check...otherwise I will go mad trying to correct everything over and over again which only would result in completely screwing things up or stripping them and starting over! You saw they were on the table last night. I added a little shadow here and there. Will keep looking while I finish, or try to finish the old woman and dude with the bread. Once they are done all bets are off and they head for the dio and move on! Okay....back to the bench...and some coffeeeeeeee!! Cheers Guys!!

Andy seems to be obsessed with every woman, harhar! And hey, isn´t it the best obsession a man could have?? Besides this, I wonder what the new figures are, I haven´t seen these guys till now (ok, there are tons of figures out there). Russians? Heck, I´ve got itchy fingers from watching that all so I will sit down in a few minutes to get my working stuff and do some sculptings on my Silver Surfer. Its finishing time!

Looking forward to that one Frank!! Dig the SS for sure!! I think I still have the first issue he appeared in not to mention every time Galactus showed up!! There are a million and one companies out there making figs...both large and small. Kabuki is actually Italian based with with partnership in the US. There are a number of great sculptors, not unlike yourself, out there doing their thing! Truly a great time indeed, to be a modeller!!

The Base ROCKS!! Not only the sculpting but your paint job too! It brings out every detail, has a top colour balance and looks brilliant! And the two figures, harhar, they look like they were made for exactly that Base. I cannot wait to see them blended in, perfect choice!
I think you will be surprised when you see my Silver Surfer; I have done him a bit different, as his board. It´s the beginning of a little collection and will be followed by Spiderman, the Hulk and some members of the Fantasic Four. And hell, thanks for that compliment about my "sculpting abilities"!!

Todd - maybe you mentioned it, but I missed it - who's base is that? Looks familiar, but I can't place it.

Thanks Frank! I appreciate the kind words! I will pull all the figures(parts at least) out later this afternoon and see if I have something that will work to support the action happening. Looking forward to seeing what you have planned for the Surfer!! Cool you are going after some of the Comic subjects. By nature, they lend themselves to creativity in the painting schemes. Careful, I already have this figure thread started...not a far stretch for me to add the Black Widow I have to the mix!! How could you not like it? Wait...that wasn't the figure!! Here is what was in the box....... Told you it wasn't very hard to get things moving around here....LOL!!! LOL!!! That is it for this one right now!! I do have plenty of fish in the fire to contend with!! One of which is this little guy...Odin from RN Estudio - My review of this figure is here-----> trmreviewconnect.wordpress.com/2015/01/10/rn-estudio-odin/He comes with two options for weapons...but I plan on going with the knuckle blade thingies!! I did manage to break out some primer on this one already as well, but need to finish uploading some pics....maybe later!! Oh yeah...Dupes and Boyd...Joe's stuff is great!! Like you guys I have a small pile of doo-dads hanging about!! With the arrival of my little "figure thread" I think maybe a few things might show up from time to time!! Thanks for swinging by!!

What the heck.....lets keep this party going here!! ODIN!!! A little dark primer............ Then a little bit of mid-tones... Lets top things off with some light stuff!! Not sure what all this will get me in the end...but it is surely primed now!! LOL!! I have done a little detail painting and as with just about everything else I got going on, still a bunch to go!! Oh yeah, I am definitely jumping around if you can't tell by now!! All of the hand painting has been Game Air from Vallejo. This paint is for the airbrush, but seems to work great for painting by hand as well. It is a little thin when it comes to the larger areas, but pretty much by the time I finished that section it had dried and a second coat covers well and makes things ready for the highlighting as I go. When used for highlighting the consistency is almost perfect. A little thinning with water in some cases and just like using thinned Model Color!! Still more to go on this one!! As always, thanks for keeping tabs on me!!
