A Zvezda Ekranoplan- My first Zvezda kit, a really good one, fun and well designed. Also my first model with Tamiya putty. Way better than Testors putty.

Got to admit the Russians are really good at coming up with some interesting looking aircraft! Nice work on this one.

A nice well rounded and eclectic collection. I really like the Arizona. I would love to build her someday.

A little diversion- One of those little etched things. Among all the usual Eiffel Towers and Leaning Towers of Pisa I found a Kinkaku-ji, The Japanese Deer Garden Temple that inspired one of my favorite books, on which it's now perched. Only a couple hours but a very fun way to spend them, and a rare treat for my bookshelf.

Thanks! The kits are really fun, they have a tab and slot construction that's a bit awkward but they make great diversions. Next time I might cut the tabs off and try CA.

Thank you! Yes, it's real, though it's not quite an aircraft. Some actually classify it as a ship. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-90_OrlyonokIts sibling the "Caspian Sea Monster" is also pretty darn weird-

Some nice work on the shiny temple! I have a couple of these little etch kits kicking around! Pretty fun stuff for a break from the normal modelling!

Meet Leopold- Leopold is a 1/72 Hobby Boss model kit of a 280mm German railway gun, towed by a WR360 C12 Locomotive, also Hobby Boss. Leopold is special because in January, I began construction on this big beast of a model kit. It was fun, of course, one of the coolest kits I’ve ever built. But in the middle of this project, I began production on my first feature film as director, Jealous Gods. Free time ceased to exist. Every moment went into the film, so Leopold sat for months untouched and incomplete. Every day I would see Leopold collecting dust and every day we shot, I promised Leopold that when production ended, I would finish the kit. Production ended one week ago, and I’m keeping my promise. Working on Leopold again was like Zihuatanejo in The Shawshank Redemption, a distant hope that came closer and closer with every shot. It was the thought that kept me working when I grew tired. Because however long it seemed to take to shoot the film, I knew Leopold was counting on me. Leopold appears in the credits to Jealous Gods at the top of the Special Thanks list. And it's good to be building again!

Thank you Leon!!! Frank- Jealous Gods is about three college students who get their wishes granted and all the oddities that happen on campus as a result. One student tries to be a superhero, one a hedonist, and the other develops toward villainy. Then everything is thrown into chaos as one more student gains powers of her own... It's on IMDb here- www.imdb.com/title/tt5174926/And you can see a trailer here- www.youtube.com/watch?v=51O1Tr0E3ocAnd lastly you can read all about the production at the official blog- jealous-gods-movie.tumblr.com Thanks for your interest, I hope you get to see it when it comes out!

Thank you Leon! I highly recommend the kit, partly for selfish reasons- I'd love to see what the resident masters here could make of it!
