Ah the joy/pain of details. Looks like you've got some nice work laid out for you though to help populate the scene.

unfortunately i fucked up the pe bicycle rack while soldering... also the plans were not so clear how to build it... so i used the plastic part for the rack... also i did not use it as a weapons carrier.. ;-)
one side got primer on, tomorrow the second side and then madairbrush will get his close up shots... :-)

Like wise... I didn't use all PE for my bike. I skipped the rack as it was over complicated... no thanks! LOL

over complicated... thats the right expression...
sad about that is, after that i wrote a email to masterbox if it is possible to get spare pe fret, but never got an answer... other companies like voyager are more better in customer support. they send me some replace frets without cost and put also some gift pe into the mail... big thumbs up for voyager

I am not registered at Facebook, so cannot see too much. But I have an idea of what you will do. Check out the ART OF MODELING magazine. Or, even better, Migs WEATHERING MAGAZINE, the first issue was all about rusting. Highly recommended!

All the small details are great. I wish to see a close-up of the bike... hey mad, i didn't forget your close up shot... but the images are a bit dark, have to do them when i am back again home... already primer on, so unfortunately you do not see what is plastic and what is pe. the pe parts are the same as with deafs posted close up bike...

Coro, no abo (do not like abos for not getting the mags, lost in the post, crumpeled in the envelope etc.) I buy the actual ART OF MODELING at my local store and wait now for the new edition. This mag is really good. If you think doing an abo, I recommend to order all elder issues which are available. You won´t be disappointed!
By the way, the bycicle looks really superdetaile.

holla fank, unfortunately i did not find a store which is selling AOM... neither do i like mag abos for the same issues like you... i already thought about buying the older mags, but thats a investment for xmas... ;-)
the bike is a small gem, i like the detail it has you can show out of the box.

aren't we all crazy??? one requirement of model building is craziness i thought... ;-) but tonight i am totally frustrated and upset with vallejo colors... tried to experiment with some vallejo chipping medium, hairspray and salt techniques... but the only result i got was vallejo top coat paint not chipping but removed in one big piece like a foil... vallejos feature to dry into a shell like surface is just a mess when you want to do chipping... johnt gave me the valuable tip to try out tamiya colors instead... so tomorrow is shopping time... :-(

Nice work on the bike coro!! And the rusting base! Keep up the great work!
As for the chipping....you may have an easier go at the chipping with Tamiya and hairspray. The process for Vallejo chipping with their medium is not hard but there are a couple things to remember as it is a different type of paint and and medium for chipping. There are several factor, as seen with all chipping that have to be considered when looking for a particular final look:
Amount of Chipping Medium applied Thickness of the application of paint Length in which you allow the paint to dry how much water you use when going to remove the paint tool used to remove the paint
More Medium will result in a larger area of paint coming off no matter the brand. Heavier coat of paint will result in larger chips...to little and smaller amounts come off or the action of removing will be harder. Let the paint dry too long and it becomes harder to remove. If you apply too much water, large areas of paint come off too quickly...the brush should be humid with water...barley damp if you will. Depending on the tool depends on the effect as well...soft brushes one thing, stiff another...Q-tips, toothpicks and so on.
Tamiya and Hairspray work excellent together. But, but the same premise apply. No matter what you use, you will need to make adjustments accordingly as you would have to make changes using and acrylic like Vallejo and a solvent like Tamiya. Just play around with all of them and find the methods that work for all. The results can be wide and excellent!
