After looking at dozens of pics of the landing gear on-line to see how I could up the detail on the LG I finally came to the realization that it really was, well, nothing. I tried making the hydraulic lines out of thin solder I had textured but it proved to be pretty tedious and in the end it wouldn't have added much in the way of extra detail. These are little gems in there own right. Got the tail feathers on too and about to stated on getting wing center section together.

Looks excellent. The kit gear are pretty nice themselves. I too looked at some photos and didn't feel like there was anything else I could do that would be worth the effort... Was just browsing Sprue Brothers and came across something interesting store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/edusin63203.htmMight have to build my -1A even sooner than I thought

Jeez Jimmy, what the hell did you show me THAT thing for? I better find another Corsair at Mosquito Con. With that Grey Matter set this can be one heck of a display piece. For looks and price The Tamiya pit is pretty sweet but that must just be freakin' awesome. Hmmm... maybe a an r_2800 and a cockpit in a museum setting.

Yeah...I'm not sure about the resin cockpit. I'm sure it's great...I just don't think entirely needed. But that price for the whole shebang doesn't seem that bad. Doing up the cockpit is just an added bonus I guess.
I'm really kinda wanting to go all out on something like this. My thing is I don't want to add 2 or 3 times the cost of a kit on AM then have to fight it. I'd like to do it in a kit that I know on it's own goes together worry free...and the Corsair is that kit...so...my mind is racing here

You know instead of a museum setting, you could always put this in a pacific island setting with the cowlings off and that gorgeous engine hanging by a hoist showing off all that work you put into it. They did do maintenance on them you know.

Just do it Jimmy. You know you want to. Yes Leon, they are playing nicely. At the moment anyway. I hope you mean the Corsair T. Trust me, you don't want to see anything shakin' on me Bill, it's gonna have to a a show stopper special. Yeah, who am i kidding. "WHAT? $3 off list price? DONE! Oh my too bad you only have 3 of them!" Rick, if this were to happen again, cracked wide open is the plan. Thanks fellas.

It shouldn't be so hard to decide what to do with a Corsair. It's not like the near endless German color schemes. First you think how cool is the look of the Gloss Sea Blue. Just beautiful. For discussion only But then there is the also as cool and beautiful 3 tone schemes. Classic. For discussion only How about the best of both worlds. Take 2 battle damaged air frames and make 1 bird. Problem solved.

I like all three possibilities!! But the last mismatching would be cool...different stages of weathering and what not!!

Well you won't get any complaints from me for doing that scheme....except maybe that I would totally do it...lol. Those are the kind of things that really get my modeling juices flowing. Really starting to love the mix-matched stuff like this.
Awesomeness ensues.

I didn't even consider WHY that paint scheme was what it was - very cool!

Should look neat when it's done. Different for sure. Here's a shot of the 1:1 I I found. For discussion purposes only [/URL]

Whoa...I don't mean to sidetrack you, Marc, but... In the picture above it sure looks to me like the panels are removed from that bird RIGHT WHERE that Grey Matters set would go.... Yes..I'm evil!

Remember as a kid when your parents would say "you don't need to hang around that boy. He's no good. He'll get you in trouble!"
I'm that kid BWAAHAAHAA

To push each other to be better...he's nailed painting and weathering and finishing in general. Now I'm just "enabling" him to take his builds to a whole 'nother level

(With the lilt of some soft country music in the background...)"I'm back in the saddle again..." With the 88 dio done and an appropriate amount of rest for the eyes form once again starining onthe small scale stuff, I am back to parts I can see Started in on the center wing section which is basically the main spar and wheels wells. I am going to add some plumbing but not much. Only the internal edge is glued and once set I will go back and glue the leading edge. On the test fit to the fuselage it was pretty much drop in. The gun barrels are for something to see if one were to look into the gun ports.

Glad this one is back in the oven. I told you that center wing buildup was impressive. The scary part? Tamiya gets more amazing with each new kit...thinking of the Mossie gives me chills.

Your resin guns look better than what I have seen at the shows... most of resin guns I saw were crooked!!! That's why I had to order barrels from RB in Poland for my B-24.

Thanks guys. Jimmy, thinking of a 1/32 Wooden Wonder gives me... er... Mossie Changed horses in the middle of the stream and decided i didn't like he cowl flaps all the way 'round. O course what a PITA that was to fix. I was just glad I saved the piece that was originally not going to be used. Somewhere along the way I lost the single flap at the bottom of the cowl. easy peasy fix with some .005 plastic. Wheels wells primed, ready for the white to be chipped. Question about AK chipping fluid. Brush it on of spray it with the AB?
