Thanks man! The sad part is I totally ganked up my airbrush firing that AK paint. Total doucherizing with Windex and I think she's back in business! Hope to get back on this guy very shortly. Like in 3...2...1...

So, I finally got them Vikings on a second try! The sitting guy seems to have a spring "oak leaf" cap, autumn "oak leaf" trousers and a spring "plane tree" smock. The guy with the map is wearing a "blurred edge" winter parka and the rest "pea dot" uniforms (an unofficial designation invented by collectors). Be aware that "pea dot" items weren't reversible except for some white winter garments and though there were Panzer tunics available (like on the pointing guy in the half-track), there have surprisingly never ever been produced field caps or helmet covers in this pattern!

Ooooookie dokie. Finally got some work done on this guy while I was rotating things through the bench. This pic doesn't LOOK much different, but a lot of things got done. All of the ancillary bits (short of the tools) got attached - the bumpers, hooks, MG42s - and the wheels (which no one will ever see) got painted. Once that was done, I could seal up the upper and lower halves. Lots done on the base. Everything is painted and drybrushed and the rails are attached to the ties. For any of you planning on building this - be careful with inserting the rails into those ties. I broke all kinds of the little clips off trying to get them mounted onto the long pieces. Painted over them to repair, hopefully nobody will be staring that down too closely. Still have washes and pigments to go on the base, but that shouldn't take long. Picked up an Osprey book on modeling Waffen SS figs by Calvin Tan - looks like a lot of the schemes are applicable! Should give me at least a very good start on where to go with the dudes that will (hopefully) be going on top. Weathering to commence once I get back from Downeastcon (and get my stupid taxes done).

Thanks Leon! Other than the issues getting them put together I'm liking how everything is going so far.

Every build that stalls out on me stalls out for a reason - this one was no different. Had it sitting quite far up on a shelf on the wall (way out of reach of the cats!) when I found one of the cats dangling off of said shelf. Luckily, she only managed to rip off the extensive radio antenna, but it was enough to push the build back down the queue. Earlier this week, I finally tackled the repair! Also got rolling on the weathering. Oil dot streaking followed by beginning of chipping with some Payne's Gray and a sponge.

Thanks Leon! Will be good to get this one done.
Finding that I need to jack up the contrast in the pics - doesn't look nearly the same as in person.

Nice stuff. Those slab walls were crying for some decent weathering and you blew it out of the park.
