Guess what this 'should' end up as?

Just to add to the ever growing list of projects on the go, but not (possibly never to be) finished, I have this one brewing.

As the title says, can you guess what this 'should'turn out to be?.

The pictures are of laser cut plastic sheeting, which will form the bones of the build. I should get the sheeting within 2 weeks, so once arrived, it will take shape quite quickly.









It will be 1/35 scale, modern era, not in wide spread use. Any guesses folks?.

Prof, you are the closest soo far, although still a good bit off.

It is a moving object, quite fast, holds about 10 to 15 guys,with 0.5 cal and 7.72mm weapon systems employed.

My dims are a best guess, it will hopefully look the part, but accurate it wont be as dims are nowhere to be found.

The high number parts will form a perimeter frame with a square section spine running through where the square in the middle is. the frame will then be 'skinned'. there will also be a lot of plasticard used for details and plenty of super fine wet & dry paper (but not for sanding).

Well gents, I think you are close enough now!.

Intention is that it should be something along the lines of a Riverine Patrol Boat as used by USN SEALS.



I have a sketch on the go which I will post later, that shows the basic construction of the parts I am getting cut and I will use the hull of a 1/36 Revell Offshore powerboat for the lower section.

She should be about 350mm long x 110mm wide. i want to show it in water, so that will be a challenge in itself, and finding enough figres to fill it up.

Well, the laser cut parts arrived today. As always, I am very impressed with what Progressive Engineering Solutions have done for me.

Picture 2. Close up of the parts, which from the side walls of the boat.


Pictures 3, 4 & 5. Dry fit quick assembly of some parts to see how it goes together. Evergreen Tube section is to give structural satbility.






Just need to get head down, and get it going !!.

Hey Dickey, minimal clean-up and no fetting at all (a wiggle here and there at the most).

Put the bones together, now the real work begins. need to work out how to 'skin' the side walls.

Morning,Chris.....I know you'll probably have some idea how your going to do the next bit,and this will sound like a dumb idea,but how about tissue paper and dope,like they do on the old balsa wingy kits?
Just a thought!
Edit....Most probably wouldn't be strong enough,eh?

Might have to go for something like that, tried bonding thin plasticard but it just sprung off, and then tried heating plasticard over it, a bit like like a strip bender.....but least said about that attemps the better. Going to check on line, to see if there is any specialist self-adhesive tapes that may do the job.
