Well, disaster strikes.... A decal destroyed. Unfortunaly the most important one....

That's not good... Looks like you got some old decals there - you need some of this (and a replacement for the destroyed one)

Indeed Dierk! I had thought about it, also. But i think the form is wrong. Its build for the Accurate Miniatures, not for the Modelsvit kit. The nose oilcooler is more rounded, than square. In this case, the Modelsvit is the correct one.
I have decided to make a mask, and spray it on. I going to finnish this one. No matter how difficult its going to be.....

I have found something new, also. While looking at the photo's, i suddenly saw that the spinner has the french roundel on it! Red (hard to see the contrast with the black), white (clear to see) and blue (on the very tip of the spinner) On this photo, you can see it better

Good find Dierk! But the roundel on the spinner, is smaller. You'll see!

Probably a better result than you'd have got with the decals.

Hi Dierk and Idor!
Its indeed better than the decals. The decals are made for the inaccurate Accurate Miniatures Yak-1b. The oil cooler is more square than the correct Modelsvit rounded oil cooler. So, if i put them on, there would be trouble....

Excellent result Remco! But have you noticed: the 'sparkle' in the eye of your plane is in the two o-clock position, but in the 11 o-clock on your ref pic?

Funny thing, its common believe that it is No. 24.... ...but on photo material... Zoomed in... ...not 24 in my book. Its 30, 36 or 38. Although 38 is already indentified as some one else plane. I go for 30...

Thanks guys! It means a lot. I didn't build a lot of aircraft. So the breaking of the sharkmouth decal was a big letdown. I am very happy with the results so far!
