Thanks, Leon. Bill, you're right..... I started picking those things up at the Dollar Store, Dollar General, places like that. They're cheap, and the wild colors make it easy to see parts. When they get too carved up, I toss them and pull another. They're also really easy to clean up, and PE parts generally don't go flying off into the nether regions when I cut them off the frets.

Can't beat the Dollar Store for stuff like this! As for PE flying off, I've started using a process that works really well and that I admittedly stole from Trumpeter. Trumpeter usually provides its PE frets with a clear adhesive cover front and back on the fret and all I usually do then is remove the top cover and leave the back in place. Use a hard surface like your cutting board to cut the PE but it still sticks to the adhesive backing (for kits that just have the plain old fret, I use either clear Scotch tape or blue masking tape, both work just as well) behind the part. No more pinging and it also helps cut down on the nubs that need sanding or potential for parts distorting due to the cut. Might give that a shot as a way to help starve the carpet monster.

Russ has paint!
Would you really brush paint areas as large as camo patterns on a Leopard? Surprising. I'm all for free-handing camo, but that's with Tamiya only...have never been able to get any other brands to do the not-spattering thing.

I looked at it this morning, which is actually the closest I've come to modeling in weeks, and it's screaming lizard green, way too green. Gotta do somethin'.

Some more paint would be nice. I'm in a bit of a lull myself: by the time I've done what I have to do, I don't feel like doing what I want to do...

Dierk, I'm in a total Nomojo situation. I haven't touched a model in a month, other than to move something out of the way. Yuk.

Thanks gents. Yup, like falling off a bike: once learned, only needs a little touch-up to remember. I went by the painting guide in the instructions, and matched colors to the box art, close as I could. After some dust, it's all moot anyway.

Thanks Andy. I was a little leery of doing the two colors with a brush, but I think I can live with it.
