Thanks Elco and Bill. This is the fighting compartment with dog house for the engine cover and wooden planks for the floor . The running gear with the tracks temporarily wrapped around . Looks to be one link too long .

nice wood effect mate. Seems like you managed to clean the running gear as well. I had serious troubles with that because especially the drive sprockets and rear wheels had a lot of flash inside of them Cheers

Thanks Leon , glad you like it ! Wouts thanks and I had the same clean up task with the rear sprocket . Spent about and hr. working it over and I didn't care for the fact that each wheel is moded in 2 halfs .I know that made for detail on both sides but I don't care about or see the detail on the inside anyway . Andy thanks and if you to go lay down in there go ahead but watch out for the recoil !

Nice work on those duckboards Carl. Andy's gotten too comfortable in the legroom department from his last couple of flights!

Hey Bill thanks . Dupes , thanks . Do it ! Finished the tracks for now . After painting them in flat black I went over that with dark earth pigment mixed with water and when that dried I wiped of the excess on the inside surfaces with a cotton swab . The steel surfaces I used the lead of a carpenters pencil .

Good job, Carl. it gives me the desire again to finish mine. I stopped because I am not sure about the color. Looking at the barrel it is a 2 tone camo, but on the hull I think it is dust.

Wouts , Leon , Eddy , Andy , Bill thanks guyz !! Eddy , I'm going with a brown over the gray camo . I read where this was done on other vehicles of this time period but that it was difficult for the brown to show a contrast with the gray due to the black and white pics of the time . Like you pointed out the dust could hide the camo pattern as well and it seems to show up more on the gun barrel .

Hey Carl, the brown and grey camo was used in Poland and France, it was replaced with an all grey coat before the attack on the Balkans. So the vehicles in Russia were grey. Later some received a dark yellow camo like here I think that these are the colors seen on the barrel, but I am not sure about the hull. Eddy

Hi Eddy .. That is the official line but there have been many cases of different camos showing up in Russia .. Many are probably vehicles that were tagged for Africa but were finally sent east.. If you look at the picture I posted it is clear that a second color is painted over the grey.. What color it is is up for discussion .

Hi, The reason why I think the color variation on that photo is dust is that pics taken later in display in Moscow after the capture only shows some camo on the barrel but not on the vehicle. The Russians removed the kill marks before the show but the paint difference stayed. The darker color on your pic is where possible the dust was wiped by passing crew members on the side and is very obvious on the back door and were the tarp was when the top was covered. I think that the vehicle was grey and the barrel (may be a replacement) had some camo on it.

Eddy good that will be what I go with then . Maybe the color of the camo on the barrel is yellow over gray ? Quick update . I did an oils wash and applied a little pigment . The hull deck is glued on and the fender ends are cut off and will be replaced with p.e.

nice work indeed. You gonna add the fenders later on? Brave man I had the pe fenders glued on much earlier and I must say it was a pain in the bum...on the other hand, guess that's because I haven't soldered anything yet and the thing was just assembled with plain CA glue. Nice start of the weathering on the running gear btw Cheers

Yes, nice work on the wooden planks. Looks better than mine. I just painted a base color then dry brushed the grains on. Ah, it's a learned thing. How were yours done if I may ask? Jeff
