Hetzer is off and running! Just don't mix up the beer with the thinner by mistake.

And a fine little addition it will be, you'll not be disappointed I'm thinkin More done, in basecoat now 001 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr This will be followed up with a soft edged ambush scheme. I would have used the disc camo stencils included in the kit but hey, everyone's will look like that. Regards, Mark

Gentlemen, thank you all Bench time scarce the past couple weeks. I botched the soft edged paint job rather badly, overspray and the airbrush hacked up large ugly splats in a couple of spots. Rather than toss the model or strip it and try again I elected to get the brush out and change to hard edge. Here's how it looks now 004 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr 005 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr 006 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr Once I get all the little ambush spots, washes, mud, etc on it it just may turn out to be acceptable. Regards, Mark

Make that lemonade Mark! Looking forward to seeing more on this one. Hard-edge looks like it's doing the trick so far.

Thank you all gents you give me too much credit So we got spots. I did them, looked and thought too many so a bunch got painted out. After that the all dunkelgleib roadwheels looked funny so that had to change. Not sure if it's historically accurate but it looks OK to me. You shall judge... 001 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr 002 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr 004 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr I'll weather this one with oils as I think it's a little too garish, we'll see what I can come up with Regards, Mark

Where's the Hetzer? All I can see are the spots. Means it's an effective scheme! Looking good Mark and you're right about the road wheels...the 38(t) chassis family were an exception to the rule about camo schemes extending below the hulls. The road wheels were so large/prominent that they were often incorporated into the schemes to one degree or another vs. being left in straight DY.

Leon, PJ thanks guys Bill that sure makes sense given the difference in the model's appearance Sabre good to see it passes the eyeball test so far T and you shall All thanks much for the nice comments and encouragement Soooo, the usual progression of shiny coat, decals, pin wash, oil filter, oil streaking, and flatcoat has resulted in this... 002 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr 003 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr 005 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr 006 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr 007 by Mark Hartig, on Flickr Looks as if it could actually hide in the bushes now. I tried a raw sienna oil filter but did not like the way it looked so I went to raw umber. Mud and dust next Regards, Mark
