Ok Guy, where'd you get the giant hand to use as your scale reference? I hadn't realized how small, relatively speaking, this guy was until now. Makes all of the details you've added even more impressive! The head/face in this teaser looks pretty cool!

STOP! Stop before you are going to paint! We really should think about casting this one. HELL, this is so cool! To tell the truth, I was a bit nervous because the whole figure came out so great and leaving the most important part for last... you know what I mean (have done the same several times and sucked sometime with it). But here, absolute awesome, great! CAST IT!! Or leave it as a master till you know, HOW to cast the way it would look great as a casting. There might be some casters out there who can do it. Love the little rascal!

Hi guys, here are two pics of session two and three, I hope you like it. Frank, thanks a lot for this really big compliment. In the future I want to learn to cast but I think this figure is 100% learning proces too, maybe the next figure I don't know. Still a whole lot to do before I can call this fella done. Ihope you stay tuned, best regards ! AG.

Is he going to have a helmet? A shell would look good.

I'm thinking of making a helmet once the face/head is done. First more faceworks and it seems he's not happy with it...I want to accentuate the typical toad skin beginning with the chubby chin. I started with printing the foil I use, followed by adding Magic Sculp for the bigger pests. This is great fun. Best regards ! AG.

I had visions of it being at least twice the size of what it actually is, so even more hat's off to you for such a stunning job on something so small!!! WAY TO GO!!!!!! Karma on its way!!! By the way, as Bill's already also commented on, I've loving the realism and not to mention the versatility of the hand you used for scaling purposes. How long did it take to put it together? The WIP thread for it must be pretty in depth!!! Keep it up!! Andrew

Nicolae, it's all in the details you know... Andrew, the figure measures +/- 72mm. The hand is 1/1 scale and its owner is an ugly mofo LOL ! Andy, thanks my friend, I take all the time that I need to make it look moreless acceptable. Leon, the toad skin is abolutely fun to do, I made a couple of rounded toothpicks for the job, it's all a matter of DABBING DABBING DABBING... Frank, here's an update of today's work, I dryfitted the right hand to show the global picture of the figure. Still a WHOLE lot to do but I think it's going in the right direction now... More soon, best regards ! AG.

Bill, after these pests were added to the figure I worked a super thin layer of Magic Sculp over them and now the skin looks like I want it to. Thanks my friend, I'm happy with your supportive words after each update.
Dierk it is my first sculpt effort I swear. I have to admit that since I was a kid I LOVE to play with clay and stuff. Being well prepared and informed is a big plus so that's what I did. It takes a long time (months already !!!) but I don't like to rush things and I think finishing this one will still take me two weeks or so. Thanks my friend !
Frank, really, I don't want to dismantle the whole figure, I'm so glad with the result so far and it would surely be damaged while breaking it up. I will defo try to sculpt separate parts when I do my second project, so casting will be easy to do and a figure won't need to be ruined. For the casting I will have to ask you how to do that, are you experienced with it ?

Guy, if I were, I would have asked you long before and PRESSING you to send me the finished figure! I can cast, of cause, but my knowledge is not the way a profesionell should work. And this thing here cries out for pressure casting and vacuum chamber! I know some guys who cast but recommending them would not be the way because if anything goes wrong, you could say, stupid German, were is my frog!
I think, casting should be handled by profs and guys who know their way! Maybe we should check out Johns tut, when he is going to cast his Stormtrooper. Whith the toadman, you have to chop of both armes with a microsaw and maybe double his body, simple molds should work here. But maybe someone has a better idea!

Frank Frank my bud, I would never say stupid German, where's my frog but I have to admit that I said in the past, and I quote : "Bloody Dutchman, where are my Normandy houses ?In the past I've built two Normandy houses for a diorama and suddenly there was this cheesehead Dutchman who wanted to cast them. We had a gentlemen's agreement but in the end there was only one gentleman left : me. He never bothered to do what he promised before : sending me the casted models so I could proceed with my diorama. I lost two houses in 1:35 scale, entirely detailed, almost two (you read well !) two years of work. My diorama project ended upon a shelf forever. One of these houses were finally braught on the market and the other one was never casted due to "casting problems". I never received a casted house. That said, Frank, you're a great guy and you're the one who got me sculpting, so no stupid German curses. My next sculpting effort will be "castable" (I think that isn't even a word ?). I would be proud to send you my first casted model my friend !

My heart is with you, bro, after reading this! Gentlemen´s agreements are good, when all who are involved ARE Esquires and Gentlemen, but today, they are hard to find I guess! When you have finished Toady letz see what cool paintjob he may receive and I am sure, he will be a gem in your collection (my first sculpting effort goes down the drain, so...). Hope you can finish him soon and add a Base which pleases him (maybe something swamp like, with lots of plants?). And I stay tuned for your next adventure!
Frank
