Hi again. Been able to steal a little time away from life to make some progress on the base. Still some weeds, litter and weathering to add but getting closer to the finish line. I'm also trying to think of a way to sort of break up the swath of brick. I was thinking possibly a commercial poster. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for looking. Jeff

Jeff the base is looking good! The poster idea sounds good or you could use some type of vines or ivy climbing on it.

Added a little litter and veg. Ordered a set of French Commercial posters that I should get in the mail by early next week. Unless the local postal strike happens, then who knows. After I get that in and installed I'll hit it with a light dust coat to tie together the colours. Unfortunately once I place the S35 on the base most of the wall will be hidden. Thanks for looking. All done. Picked up a sheet of black paper and tried taking the photos over again. The colours seem a little better. Still need to work on my photography skills. Thanks for all the encouragement and suggestions along the way they were a big help. Tried a lot of new things with this build so it's been a nice mojo restorer. Next up for me is building something with wings and hopefully not losing interest 2/3rds of the way through. Cheers Jeff

Looking good Jeff! Personally I'd like to see some track marks in the dirt and on the road, but a nice bit of unusual armour always goes down a treat with me.

Great diorama, finally a tank pointing to the right ! Many modellers, myself included, make a tank pointing to the left once on the diorama base.

Don't take yourself too seriously. It's just plastic.

That's a great effort. Always much more effort involved when you make a vignette like this. Gongrats!

Really nice work there Jeff. That guy looks very proud of his tank. You should be too.

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated. dierk - Good point on the tracks. Worked some track marks into the texture paste when it was wet, but when I added soil they just disappeared. I liked the look of the soil to much at that point to play with it. But next time I think I'll have a better idea of how to approach it. @armor - I'm weird. For some reason when I build western Allies they face right and Axis faces left. I think subconsciously it's the direction (west and east) the respective armies would be advancing. I've yet to build any eastern front stuff so I wonder if I'll reverse that logic. Cheers Jeff
