Andrew, Todd, Andy, PJ, Anthony, and Boyd, much appreciated gents! This one is definitely a 'labor of love' in terms of the new owner being my Dad. I just hope I can manage to get it to him intact in Idaho...may have to invest a small fortune in packing peanuts.

Thanks Leon and Joel! Showed the pictures to my Dad on Facebook and he's looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. One suggestion I got from a buddy was to pack it in its own box and then pack that box into another box surrounded by peanuts so that's probably what I will do.

Lovely finish Bill. Black is something I have largely avoided so far, I do like the look you have on that.
Great build, and as always a pleasure to follow and lots learnt.

Stunning result Bill! If you've got a hot-wire setup you could carve perfectly fitting styrofoam packing - having worked in the parcel-delivery industry I can only recommend packing in such a way that it'll survive a nuclear blast. And avoid 'fragile', 'handle with care' stickers - we used to consider them to be a challenge

And avoid 'fragile', 'handle with care' stickers - we used to consider them to be a challenge Thanks Dierk! I packed it with several layers of bubblewrap, air pillows, and foam peanuts and used the Russian doll box in a box approach, so hopefully that will be enough! I hear you on the fragile notice, that just would earn it an extra kick at the handling stages!
